"The amenities were great and I received the most amazing assistance from the owner, Gerry. A few hours before I arrived at Gumtree Guest House, I fell badly and injured my foot. Gerry, who is a trained medic, had a look at it and recommended that I see a doctor. He arranged a consultation and took me there. The doctor sent me for X rays, where Gerry’s equally friendly wife, Alta, was the radiographer! Gerry collected me from the hospital again and helped with other arrangements to get me safely back home again. Nothing was too much for him. He really went the extra mile and I will always be very thankful for this. I very highly recommend the Gumtree Guest House to all visitors."

Without their help things would have been a lot different. The Lodge is in a tranquil spot out of town, where all that can be heard are birds singing and the sound of running water. The food is very good and very well presented, with imaginative touches that make a difference. Many thanks also to Chef Linda for helping to make our stay perfect. Kayaking on the dam was one of the many highlights. It's conveniently located near popular tourist spots, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The amenities met all our needs. This was our first stay, but definitely not our last. Highly recommend—5 stars!"

"This was a two night stopover as part of a longer Garden Route tour. What a lovely place to stay. After a nice welcome from the owners we were shown to our cabin. Very well equipped with all the basic essentials. A nice touch with the sweet wine sample. Very comfortable bed and a lovely powerful shower. The food served up was amazing, with ostrich and kudo being the main protein. The vegetables and polenta were very tasty. There was a small pool if you fancied a dip. The water fridge and honesty box is a nice touch. Overall a very nice stay and well worth booking if you’re down that way."
