Never got to step through the door I booked 2 rooms the beginning of march Got full confirmation of my booking and I thought great we were staying 1 night before we went off on a cruise but to my dismay the Mortimer arms cancelled my booking on 10 of may saying I had requested the cancellation but I did not When I complained they said it was an error on there part that the room were not allocated at the time of booking but they managed to take payment so how could they not notice the rooms were not allocated Extremely poor excuse Will not entertain this company again

A lovely stay. Michael and team are excellent hosts and made every effort to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable visit. The room is very comfortable and we both slept very well. A couple of minor gripes, the shaving mirror light wasn’t working and I think a tooth mug in the bathroom would be good. Dinner was very good, excellent home cooked pub food. Service was lovely, the staff are young but they are very attentive, engaging and efficient. A slight delay on mains was resolved quickly and kindly. Whilst it wasn’t the main part of my meal I have to say that the vegetables with my homemade pie were really well cooked and showed great attention to details. Breakfast was equally as good, lovely ingredients, super service all served in a really nice dining room bar . Highly recommended.

We stayed here for one night. The room was ok and has a kettle etc for tea/coffee. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were firm which I like. The bathroom has a shower only which we prefer but some people may not like. The corridoor to the bed rooms could do with painting and bit of TLC. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal and the food is good quality. I found the drink prices a bit expensive £18 for a pint of lager and a large wine. The breakfast was good although a few pastries would have been nice. Food is cooked to order and the only other food is cereal or fruit. This pub/hotel is right next to peppa pig world so if you have kids it would be a good stop over.

Holly and Nick were such fantastic hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, and they clearly cared about us having a good time. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was plentiful and delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay—excellent value and convenient to explore the New Forest.

Just back from a two day trip to Paultons Park and we stayed in the Mortimers Arms. Had an issue with the room but Michael and the team took care of it and was made to feel very valued. Food was excellent, we had a lovely evening meal, the team was very warm and flexible in accommodating our needs and the cooked breakfast in the morning before we checked out was of a very good quality.

I’ve stayed at many hotels and B&B through work which have been sub par to say the least. However this hotel is amazing. Great staff very welcoming, food is fantastic and very well priced to cater for all. Hospitality if I had to rate from 1 to 10 is a 10. Owner Michael actually cares about his visitors and ensures that all your requirements are met and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction in all areas. His Team are very polite and professional and have no hesitation to go above and beyond and with the backing of such a great team behind him this pub/Hotel/Restaurant is reaching great heights. Food: all freshly cooked from scratch not like most places I’ve stayed at and I would go as far to say that I actually doubt he even has a microwave in the kitchen and wouldn’t allow one as he prides himself and his chefs with serving nothing but the best local sourced produced fresh with nothing being cooked and reheated like many places do. 10/10 for food quality. Accommodation: fresh looking, very clean, Great showers and facilities. Beds are really comfy and actually managed to sleep the whole night without waking up to either noise or poor quality of beds. 10/10 Ample parking for all guests. I have now instructed my office that when I’m in the Southampton area that I’m booked into this location for my stays and I’m looking forward to coming back again and again. You will NOT be disappointed with your stay here, THAT I can assure you. Overall for me 10/10 Would highly recommend this place to anyone either for a one night stay or multiple night stay. K. Franklin
