This hotel is absolutely terrible; Chinese travelers should definitely avoid it. I've stayed at IHG hotels in China before and never experienced anything like this! It was impossible to sleep at night. There was an alarm in the room that went off three times between just before 2 AM and 4 AM with an ear-splitting sound that couldn't be turned off. When I called for help, they initially claimed it was a carbon dioxide detector, required by the government, and couldn't be removed, asking us to bear with it. The fourth time, it just kept going off non-stop, extremely loudly, before they finally sent someone to cut the power. The next day at check-out, the front desk staff pretended to be helpful but did nothing but give us the runaround, saying that reservations made directly with IHG could be refunded, but not those through Trip.com. Since I had tickets for Christ Church and was in a hurry, I had to contact Trip.com for help while on the way. Trip.com was quite helpful, but the hotel refused to acknowledge that we had even spoken to the front desk. Although the refund was denied, Trip.com still offered some compensation.
Additionally, the hotel's location is in the suburbs, which is very inconvenient. The room doesn't live up to a four-star standard at all; the TV was placed on the coffee table, making for an awkward viewing position. The breakfast selection was very standard and the taste wasn't great. If a Westerner had complained, I'm sure they would have processed a refund in minutes.
