Amazon Guest House

Thought this would be a good location, but for some reason we were moved to a house down the road, far further away from where we thought we would be. The main house smelled like dog, and the place we stayed was pretty bad. Awful decor, a shower that doesn't work properly and out of date food in the room. Curtains were supposed to be blackout but the blackout lining had peeled off so we were up as soon as the sun was up. Poor customer service - the house has off road parking but we had to move the car three times, once while we were out in Oxford and had to return to do so. We knew from other reviews that it was going to be bad, but it was REALLY bad.

Any review less than 3 stars are totally unfair after 2026. Obviously much has changed since all the awful reviews. You pay for what you get and anywhere in Oxford for BH weekend will be price dependant so manage your expectations, if you are on a budget then stay here but dont except 5 stars. The room and bedding was clean. There was a fridge for drinks and a fan. Kettle worked and it was free tea and coffee. It is a short walk of 15 mins into town. On site parking available. Receptionist friendly and helpful. Bathroom clean and acceptable. We will return. Thank you.

1 star...only because i coukd not submit without... I was going to leave bad feedback due to management lying saying i cancelled when it was them, but...Looking at these other reviews, I feel blessed the hotel cancelled our stay at the last minute. I was so cross at first due to having to find another hotel at the last minute, now I am so very grateful we did not stay here. We had a lucky escape by the looks of it. Totally no need for any staycation to look like this. You should be ashamed of your total laziness. How dare you expect people to pay and stay in your establishment.

So disappointing! Read trip advisor reports after our stay! 😬🤦🏻‍♀️🙄 Filthy dirty. Certain that most electrical items are unsafe. Not PAT tested! In fact bare wires coming out of the bathroom wall, says it all!! Lopsided TV strapped on with feeble tape. Mass of tangled wires under the TV, box and video recorder!! Curtains handing off the rail. Shower SO horribly dirty!! Dirt was coming off the shower hose as you showered!!! 🤢. Lots of empty containers left in the shower a push button on the toilet flush Tea,coffee and milk pods dirty and stained. Bottle of tap water provided as kettle wouldn’t fit under the tap in the bathroom. Towels- disgusting. Only useful for dogs! Ridiculous thin pillows one each. Underneath of mugs dirty:stained. In the centre of student accommodation. Lots of shouting/arguing going on from midnight onwards. Pub directly across the road was great. Good food and very friendly. Phew! 👌 But the room is just generally in such poor condition. Photos speak for them selves!!

This guesthouse is absolutely TERRIBLE! It had cockroaches in our room and a woman in the next door room had male visitors all night! And the cleaner was, with, guests who were vulnerable. As they were staying there as temporary accommodation for homelessness. Take my advice and DO NOT stay there...

Apart from the bathroom, which looks new, the property is run-down and dirty. The room was cluttered with unusable furniture and was dirty. The mirror was too low and not secured properly to the wall. The partially closed curtains would not open or close. The entrance area is overcrowded with junk. The walls are so thin I could hear people talking in other rooms.

A tiny room in a guest house with makeshift arrangements. Bed mattresses are not proper, and noise from the neighbouring rooms / street can be disturbing. Tea/Coffee bags were available Location has some dining options and bus stop just a road across

1. Door lock keep catching, struggling to turn the keys 2. Broken lamps 3. Unsafe socket, loose covers 4. Very old tv/dvd, looks like its going to fall off the bracket 5. Dirty windows sills & dated decors/curtains
