Pädaste Manor

Padaste Manor is on of the few places on the planet that remains untarnished and unscathed by conspicuous materialism. Yet this does not detract from the understated luxurious rooms, phenomenal food and its ability to reconnect your sensibilities to nature. The spa is fantastic and massages excellent. We highly recommend it.

We were a group of 20 and have had the most spectacular two days here. Alexander Restaurant produced the most outstanding meal for us all, and we were so entertained by the proprietor, the fabulous Imre. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the spa was fantastic and the location private and very peaceful. My husband really liked the breakfast too, including the herring.

We made a trip to Muhu specifically to eat the 9-course menu at Padaste Manor. We made a reservation the day before by phone and email, as requested. When we arrived at the restaurant and sat down at our table, we were told that only a 5-course menu was available – the 9-course menu had to be ordered 24 hours in advance. They should have told us this when we made the reservation. We were naturally disappointed, and it ruined the whole dinner – it wasn't what we had come there for. The food was well presented, but fell far short of expectations. In addition, they even had the nerve to sign a clearly poorly printed menu, as can be seen in the picture. All of this simply did not meet the quality standards we were looking for.

Fantastic experience and an incredible place! Five course dinner with paired wines was excellent. We also appreciated that the owners and the chef spent time with all their guests. An additional extra thanks for superb customer service to Staffan 🙏

We spent five wonderful relaxing nights at Padaste enjoying this most beautiful hotel in what is for me, the most stunning location anywhere. The food is sourced locally, from the kitchen garden or foraged and is out of this world and the honey produced by Padaste is an absolute must try at breakfast. I learnt that the starter for the sourdough bread is a 100 years old and comes from one of the owners' family and it produces absolutely gorgeous bread. The breakfasts are "a must" experience, and the pancakes are a must try. All the food is beautifully presented and is served by knowledgeable staff. Our room was immaculately clean and serviced daily, and the beds are so comfortable. What a treat the turn-down service is! Indeed all staff at the hotel did everything they could to make our stay the absolute best, they work incredibly hard, very pleasant, knowledgeable, work as a team and are an absolute credit to the owners. The spa and the newly installed smoke sauna is an absolute must visit and is the best that I have ever experienced. The spa uses local herbs and plants in their products which are divine. The hotel have spacious rooms and the Alexanders' restaurant is stunning, serving stunning food and incidentally have gained a much deserved Michelin award for 2023 and 2024. In the restaurant is a very special and beautiful grand piano that was specially commissioned by the owner. We were very fortunate to hear the owner playing this beautiful instrument on a few evenings, including at the special concert that we attended at the restaurant. After five wonderful nights and days at Padaste, regrettably, the time came to leave this wonderful luxurious place on Muhu and return to our day to day lives, but what a wonderful treat we had. We have now returned home refreshed but have started planning on our return already. Au revoir Padaste and your wonderful team, we will be back as soon as can. Thank you Padaste and all the wonderful staff for making our stay the absolute best. We highly recommend the experience of Padaste in fact it is a must.

Admittedly, we had high expectations based on reviews, reputation, and price. While the hotel is absolutely fine and the environment is gorgeous and peaceful, the once-exceptional contemporary facilities are dated, and the service is poor. The rooms have not been upgraded since about 2008 (which is the date of the most recent movie in their antiquated Blue-Ray(?) film library), the air conditioning was highly problematic on a hot summer day with no fans available, and the general responsiveness of the staff ranged from blasé to unsophisticated. Perhaps the worst service of six varied hotels we visited in Estonia and Finland. Note: We are not foodies and we did not visit Padaste to dine at their Michelin-rated restaurant, so we suspect the experience may be different for guests focused primarily on the restaurant.
