Baantawan Guesthouse in Pai is a fantastic place to stay! The cozy rooms are clean, comfortable, and have a great homely feel. It is a beautiful building complex with a very nice style and looks beautiful. In terms of location it is also perfect just outside the busy center and still within walking distance. Be careful that there is a school next door and during the day you hear some noises but I don't find it disturbing. I had a nice terrace, ideal for doing nothing. Everything is quite outdated. For example, the doors and screens of the terrace are difficult to open. The shower does not really get warm if you turn the tap on hard. And the floor moves when the neighbors walk next to it. So it is also quite noisy but in my 6 days I have not had any problems. Everyone is aware of that I think. At breakfast you can choose one thing from the menu and the chef tries to make it as soon as possible but after 9 o'clock it gets busy and he can't really handle it. All in all a very nice place with nice staff.
