Only stayed the one night in this hotel as was a deal with dinner and breakfast. Easily located right on the front with great views of the sea. There is a free car park which is also a big advantage. There are a lot of rooms all over the place and when we found ours it seemed a little old fashioned and didn’t smell clean and fresh. We had twin beds which were actually very comfy with nice bedding. The bathroom needed a clean and the lampshade was covered in dust. Also the taps were the wrong way round. The dinner was mediocre and the breakfast was nice. What made this hotel was the lovely happy accommodating staff. Think this is used for coach trips etc as a more mature clientele with a knitting club in one room and a sewing club in another room. Paignton itself is not the best with a lot of closed shops and quite run down. There is a lovely beer pub called The Upside Bar and one near the hotel called the Spinning Wheel. Don’t think we will be back but sure it ticks all the boxes for some people.

Really friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Lovely room beautifully clean, really comfortable bed, just the job for my bad back! All the meals were excellent with good choices. The staff were so cheerful, quick and helpful, for me really important. Evening entertainment was excellent, catering for everyone's taste. Only criticism is lack of Wi-Fi in bedrooms. Will recommend to friends and would definitely visit again.

Fabulous hotel. Great location on the sea front. Good good. Went dinner, bed and breakfast. Was worth every penny. I took elderly relatives so I had a single room. Bed comfortable. Only issue over the weekend for me was the shower, which was barely a dribble. Being on the top floor I'm assuming there was no water pressure which was a shame as this was the only bad thing about the hotel. Cannot overstate how great the staff are. So friendly and helpful. On the Monday only one staff member working reception, bar and making sandwiches so was worked off her feet but still made lovely sandwiches complete with great side salad. Wouldn't allow me to leave a tip. Her total commitment to guests was remarkable and this was the same for all the staff from housekeeping to reception to kitchen and restaurant staff. Music in the 2 evenings we were there, both female singers, was very good. We all agreed, fabulous hotel and we will be going back as soon as we can.

Another fantastic stay at the Marine Hotel Food is good Rooms are clean and comfortable beds But above all the staff are excellent It would be unfair to mention the names of the ones that I know as all are are helpful and friendly where nothing is too much trouble It is one hotel that I will be returning to

Very comfortable clean room. Great breakfast. Narla loved her sausage in the morning. Great location being just across the road from the beach. All staff are wonderful but I have to say Ryan outshone them with his customer skills. Well done gang and thank you.

Lovely hotel on seafront. We went on a 'Groupon ' deal and couldn't fault it. Dinner bed * breakfast & free parking was a big bonus. Food was very good and staff efficient, friendly and willing to help. Singers as the entertainment both evenings were excellent Room looked like it had been newly refurbished and spotlessly clean.

Amazing gem of a find. Hotel right on the seafront close to the harbour and town. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, hardworking and very helpful. The 3 course dinner and breakfast were served promptly, hot and delicious with a smile from all the waiting staff. The menu choice was fabulous and our room had a side sea view and overlooked the park, it was clean, warm and had a lovely comfy bed. There is entertainment nightly and the bar prices were very reasonable. We can’t wait to go back and visit again. Well done Marine Hotel on the running of such a fabulous establishment, your staff are amazing thank you for a fabulous stay.

If I could give 100 stars I would for this hotel ! The staff are absolutely wonderful and do whatever it takes to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as they can . The food was always piping hot and tasty and served with smiles from the waiting staff x they work so hard and are so good humoured I can’t praise them enough . It’s not a boutique hotel but it is clean and comfortable also in a good position for the beach and harbour .

Pleasant stay, friendly staff, decent breakfast, comfortable bed, welcoming lounge with bar & relaxing armchairs. Only down side was pumped up volume on nightly bar entertainment that lasted til 10.30 & could still be heard 2 floors up above tv sound in bedroom & even if went in bathroom could still be heard above sound of extractor fan ! If I wanted to hear the singers I would have gone to the bar but if I wanted an early night, to read or quietly chat I could not do so ! A real shame & could be easily remedied so all guests can have a good time .
