This hotel was a pleasant surprise, far exceeding my expectations. For just over 300 yuan, I thought it would be pretty average, but it blew me away! It has a pool and offers shuttle services. The owner is French, and it's full of tourists, mostly European and American backpackers – I was the only Chinese guest!

Loved The Sanctuary -after a long day on the slow boat it was just what I needed. From pick up at the pier to welcome drinks and a delicious dip in the pool, it was great. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I would have loved to have stayed longer.

The Santuary was a lovely hotel in Pak Beng, the perfect place to stay after the long boat journey from Luang Prabang. We wished we could stay longer to enjoy the facilities and view of the river

it's a bit expensive for me, but the service and the view from the hotel was amazing. The reswaurant was really great.
