O2 Villas Yala

Location: The hotel is ideally located near Yala National Park, just 7 kilometers away, making it perfect for safaris. Guests appreciate the proximity to nature, with opportunities for treks, beach walks, and wildlife exploration in serene surroundings.

The baseline for this accomodation is to have an all-private villa with a pool and butler service, which is all true. The friendly and flexible personalized service is a demonstration of the highest hospitality. The catering is of a good (Sri Lankan) standard and made to order, so always fresh and to your specifications. The good people of the O2 also organize small trips which are very nice. On the last night we got the most wonderfully romantic surprise, an evening we will never forget. The villa has two bathrooms, the one is semi-open, which is a common feature in south-east asia. We prefer closed type bathrooms because of the exposure to the climate and occasional insects that find their way in. The other bathroom is closed from the ceiling but two windows have a kind of air-vent grill that permits 'access' for undesired critters. On our tour we stayed in 5 hotels and this one had the best matrasses, so kudos for that. Also the wifi was working well, so our local sim was spared for the duration of our 5-night stay. Guests should be aware that all-private is not the same as privacy. The pools are adjacent to the central path from the entrance to the villas towards the restaurant without any way to shield your privacy. We permit an attentionpoint for the general maintenance of the villa. As pictures show, there are trees growing in the house and going through the roof. It can rain in Sri Lanka, rain hard. And you just don't want towels and buckets to fix that. Stains, wear and tear on the seam of two ceiling plates because of old water infiltration issue, discoloration in the paint on the walls testimonial to old moisture issues, doors difficult to open/close... it is just not what you want to see in this kind of accomodation especially not at this kind of rates... O2 Villas in Yala was an absolute pleasure and a place we would recommend and were we would happily go again.

The hotel was beautiful and the decor was modern and stylish. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of options. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommend this place.
