Hotel Araxa - Adults Only

I extended my stay at this hotel from 5 to 10 nights because I was really satisfied with the value that is provided here. The hotel has an interesting character and is built in colonial style, with many pieces of art and antique furniture which I liked a lot. I also loved the trees and the fact that it's adults-only. However, the waiters in the restaurant and in the pool area could be more attentive, pro-active and friendly. Overall my stay at Araxa was a success.

Very close to the central station in the city center, the surrounding is more convenient. The room is a little old, but it's hard to find a single room at this price in a tourist resort. There is a cafe next to it that can solve the problem of breakfast, and there is an Asian supermarket where you can buy water or something at night
Sercotel Hotel Zurbaran

The hotel is a little old fashioned but we found the room was clean and the hotel was quiet which is all you need for a city break. The check in process was very straight forward and the gentleman on the desk was really helpful with how to get around the city. We hadn’t pre-booked breakfast and just wandered down in the morning to see whether it was worth it and it was, there was plenty of choice of fruit, cooked breakfast and pastries. There was even a basket with some gluten free muffins. The castle is close by, within walking distance and worth walking up the steps to get the views. The cathedral is a bit of a walk but it’s a pleasant walk along the harbour front and it is a flat route so not strenuous at all. The hotel also offers free entry tickets to the Joan Miro museum if you go to their sister hotel which is up the road from the museum and is about 8 euros in a taxi from Sercetol. The taxi to the airport is only between 20 and 25 euros. The local area is much quieter so we had a decent sleep and the bathroom provided free shampoo, shower gel and soap. I would recommend this hotel if you are happy to spend some time walking to the main tourist sights and see it as a base for the night.
Brick Palma - Turismo de Interior

Stayed here for a two night city break and got a Superior Room with balcony. The Covid situation means that quite a few things were missing and or closed but that not stopped us from really enjoying our stay. It was extremely clean, all precautionary measures taken and very nice and helpful staff. In the heart of Palma 5 mins walk from the Main square and shopping areas, supermarkets and restaurants all within 5 mins walking distance. Highly recommended for a stay in Palma!

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. After arriving at 10pm with a 2 year old to the reception to check it, it took 45 mins to an hour to get checked in ( lack of staff on counter) and we were surrounded by groups of young German party goers, I knew I had a bad feeling about this place. We got to our room only to find there was people already inside the room ( which is a huge security risk and safety concern with a young child). So we walked back the long walk back by the pool to reception ( with an overly tired 2 year old)to get a new room. After getting a new room, the bathroom had a smell like sick, and you could hear everything through the rooms walls and corridors. Don't get me started on the beds, the mattress aren't torture, rock solid and had us all waking up in aches and pain. The air con was weak but it did work. The only thing that was positive about the room was the shower, great pressure and temp. Now onto the ”all inclusive ” the breakfast, lunch and dinners were awful and the same every day - I'm sure the hams and cheese were the same put out for the day. The orange Juice machine dispensed in diluted syrup which the kids loved ( A lot of European families, who had pilled plates of low quality, stale food. We ended up eating buttered bread an going out for meals at cost. It's not all you can drink either, it's 3 drinks at lunch and 3 at dinner of disgusting wine or cheap beer. You can go to the bar outside but have to pay for drinks and a deposit for 2 euro for cups. The entertainment was basic, the same dance disco every night, granted my 2 year old did get the schedule and did get used to the dancing which was good, but they didn't cater to English all the songs where In spanish but it was ok. The pools and the outdoor areas were basic, no slides for the kids or any floats or anything - but you could purchase from the shop on site. The hotel needs a whole new refurbishment to be honest. It's very very dated. The only outdoor evening ride was a horse merry go round which ate my 2 euros on multi occasions and didn't work. Last but not least - the amount of security or police parked within the resort walking around with Batons and a couple with guns was very concerning. Due to the amount of drunk party goers who stay there who end up making loads of noise and playing music. Overall a very very poor experience and it's very rare you leave a trip feeling more stressed and exhausted than relaxed and recharged. I wouldn't recommend staying here at all and to be honest stay clear.
Hotel Amic Horizonte

This hotel is located near the port of Palma city center, but it is on the mountain. It doesn't matter if we travel by car, but it is a bit inconvenient for hikers. The whole hotel building feels old but the room can be clean. The dry and wet separation is very good. There is a balcony downstairs pool is the highlight of the hotel. There are massage pillars and seats in the pool. There is also a small pool for children and it is equipped with parasols and lounge chairs. Going forward, there is also a large observation deck with a good view. In short, the price is not bad.
