Les Patios du Marais 2

The location is great and conceptually a pretty apartment style complex. Space was a bit dated and worn but for price would have accepted it. BE AWARE our space (Dreaming) has a BED BUG infestation. I am covered on my arms, feet and legs. Dr has me on medication now to get bites under control. I think it was the “sofa couch” vs the bed itself. I’ve contacted management who was defensive of cleaning process and offered no accountability. I’d stay in a better hotel next time to avoid this risk of bed bugs.

I booked a stay with my wife but our flight to Paris was cancelled on the day we were supposed to leave, because of a strike in France, so we didn't get to go to Paris. I contacted Les Patios du Marais, but they wouldn't give us a refund, which seemed very unfair. Avoid this place if you can, choose a place with better customer service.

Me,my wife and 2 kids had a nice stay in the end of March. We lived at 2end floor. nice clean flat with kitchen. A little bit noicy, but still ok. Metro and a very good baker 5 min walks away. We would come back again another time. There are many restaurants, grocery stores and shops nearby.

Unbearable stench of cat litter tray in this room. UN.BEARABLE. No one cleaning the room in preparation for our stay could think that was acceptable. Clearly don’t give a toss. Complained by email and no response at all. No-one there to complain to in person. The room above this one appears to be permanently let, and we could hear an animal scratting around. Can only assume their cat is incontinent and the stench is travelling down to the flat below. To balance the review, the bed was comfy and the water was hot, which are usually my only two requirements. Now I’ve added ‘not to stink unbearably like a cat litter tray’ to my list.

We originally booked a studio, which looked very cute in the pics. When we checked in they told us they were upgrading our room to a loft with a living room on the ground floor. We looked at it and turned it down. It looked very shabby not to mention the fact that the stairs to the loft are pretty much straight up and down. Not great when you're a 64 year old taking a bathroom break in the middle of the night. We asked for our original studio and the receptionist acted offended. The studio was tiny and dated with a tiny shower. No a/c but we actually liked it. It had character. It was on the 4th floor and the stairs and hallway felt a bit dirty. It is technically in La Marais which is a great area but this place is on the very edge of it. Still in easy walking distance to everything, though.

What a great stay at Patios Marais. Room was exactly as shown on pics. Had every bit of equipment you could need in a modern setting. The room was very clean and beds had lovely comfy pillows/mattress with fresh linen sheets. No site of any bed bugs as I had brought my bed bug catcher device with me too lol. The location was fantastic as you could walk to most tourist attractions in 30mins. 2 mins away from metro, carefour supermarkets and many small restaurants. Couple bakeries outside main entrance for that essential morning croissant. At great base and would stay again. Tip: You can’t get in apartment earlier as code given is on a timer for 3pm on your main apartment door. Arrived 30mins early & thought might get chance to get in. Two exits out of complex but can’t get back in on rue au maire side which is bit of a pain having to walk around.

Unfortunately, we were unable to stay in the room due to evidence of bedbugs on the mattress (eggs, small blood stains etc.). We called them immediately to inform them of this, and were told that the apartments had indeed had an infestation recently, but in a different room. Anyone who has experience with bedbugs knows how quickly they spread, especially in a place with so many old, dirty carpets, rugs and mats on every floor and every corridor. We sent pictures to them, as requested. By the photos alone the hotel decided that we were lying. We were not even offered an alternative room. We had to find a new hotel at 5pm on a Sunday, great start to the trip! Furthermore, the hotel have refused to refund our money, despite us having clear evidence that bedbugs are present there.

Images on *********** for the property were VERY different to what we got!! The how apartment was dark (these photos were taken on sunny day!!). No natural light as each window was overgrown with plants. In need of a proper deep clean and coat of paint. Super tiny for 3 adults. Our daughter’s mattress on the floor was in a cubby hole in the eaves! 48 narrow stairs to 3rd floor room (hideous with suitcases to carry!). The only positives were that it was a few mins walk to metro station Arts de Métiers, the beds comfortable and shower was good, but no room to stand in bedroom area, very cramped so hard to move around in. Portable air-con unit in living space did not cool the HOT roof bedroom, which had 3 fans to move the not air around up there. Definitely not what we thought we were paying for. Really disappointed. Has the potential to be lovely but sadly not the case.

We were very disappointed with every aspect of this youth hostel parading as a hotel. First, whatever number appears in the name of your room is the number of flights of stairs you have to climb unassisted. This is not made clear anywhere on the website. The stairs are narrow and dangerous. The room is at least one-third smaller than it appears in photos. No AC and one window to open, which in our case looked directly into our neighbor’s room. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful (example: “ can we get a can opener?” “If there is not one in your room, then no.”). As noted in other reviews, no service. We did get extra towels but we’re told we could not have an extra sheet! Smallest shower in the known universe. Used the toaster with nothing else running and blew the circuit breaker. No ice. This is as no frills as you can get. The ground floor patios are nice but who wants to climb 4 flights of stairs to have a place to sit? No seating space in the room. Two stools with no backs. Ugh. Double Ugh. Triple Ugh, etc. I am happy we did not get bed bug bites …
