Crowne Plaza Paris République, an IHG Hotel

Crowne Plaza Paris République, an IHG Hotel

Paris|1.07km from Musee de la Poupee
We stayed six nights at this fairly spartan property that was fitted with basic room attributes including a small refrigerator, a hair dryer and a tiny safe. We requested a coffee maker and received a hot pot with instant coffee. Getting an iron in the room proved a bit of an ordeal. The room was clean and the beds were quite good. Hotel staff was uniformly convivial, accommodating and helpful with exception of an encounter with the night manager (more on that later). Only one low voltage outlet in the bathroom was provided that could power an electric razor. My daughter brought a dual-voltage curling iron and hair straightener that could not be used in the bathroom due to lack of an electrical outlet. Staff ultimately provided an extension cord to be strung from the nightstand, and over the bed that my daughter was able to use to reach a wall mirror in the bedroom. We had the misfortune to be at the property during the annual Pride celebration at Place de la Republique directly in front of the hotel. My wife has mobility issues and we had to push through hundreds of drunken celebrants to get to the only entrance to the hotel. Scary stuff getting pushed along by a mob where my wife could have fallen and been trampled. I understand the Pride celebration is a public event but its a scheduled event that the hotel could have alerted clients to and made provisions to have opened a guarded entrance on the backside of the building away from the inebriated mob. With an early morning departure to the airport, I went to the desk the night before to check out so we could leave quickly the following morning. The front desk clerk advised that the hotel had my card on file and my e-mail address so they would send me the bill thereafter with nothing additionally to be done the next morning - just drop the key and run. As we were leaving early the next morning the night manager told me that I couldn't leave because I hadn't settled my bill. He inferred I was skipping out without paying the bill. I recounted the discussion I had the previous night and he repeated firmly that the bill needed to be closed out before we could leave. It was an uncomfortable encounter that was unnecessary. Somebody needs training here and its not the client. In summary, I'd say this property lacked many expected elements for the price point and as such could only describe it as providing moderate value. The lack of provisions to accommodate client access during the Pride celebration and the check-out snafu made it seem that they were somehow new to the game.

Dandy Hotel

Paris|0.29km from Musee de la Poupee
I've just got back from spending 3 nights at The Dandy. I chose the hotel for the location - within walking distance to attractions but near the train for ease of getting to/from the airport and Disneyland. I booked the hotel months ago so was really sad to see a negative review left on TripAdvisor regarding the location of the hotel, describing the area as loud and sketchy. The review made me nervous to the point of wanting to change hotel but after searching around and seeing many positive reviews elsewhere I decided to stick with it. I am so glad I did because honestly, the hotel was perfect! My partner and I stayed in the smallest room offered (classic double) on the 3rd floor, the room was snug but spacious enough for 2, the bed was huge and it looked exactly like the photos! We stayed Monday - Thursday and had no issues with sound whatsoever, we didn't hear any other guests and there was no noise from the street. The person who checked us in was so friendly and helpful, the restaurant staff were also very polite. The breakfast wasn't worth the money for us as we just had a crossiant each morning. We had to pay extra for coffee. The pastries and coffee were really nice, just for the amount we ate it would have been much cheaper else where. If we had of wanted a full continental breakfast each morning it might have been worth it. We ate dinner in the hotel one evening and the food was amazing, actually my favourite meal of our trip. We found the location to be absolutely fine, perfect for what we needed. You could walk to The Louvre/Notre Dame within 15 minutes. We walked to the Eiffel Tower in about 45 minutes. The train station is less than a 5 minute walk with direct access to the airport (€10/each) and Disneyland (€5). We didn't find the area to be sketchy or loud at all, the hotel is near the train station, a big shopping centre and near the high street. There was a ton of restaurants around which meant that it was busy and well-lit. Being near the hotel was actually where I felt safest around Paris as some other parts we went to were very dark and quiet. I would not hesitate to stay at The Dandy again and would definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

In the central area, there is a quiet, and there is a large-scale supermarket on the opposite side. All kinds of food and drink are used. It is also very convenient to travel. There are many restaurants to choose from in the vicinity.

D'win Hotel - Paris Marais
3.9/591 Reviews
Disappointing experience. The hotel is old and tired. Good location, but is poorly soundproofed, for example open under the door and out into the corridor. In addition, there was no heating in the room, which meant that it was very cold in the afternoons/evenings and nights. The management did nothing to improve the situation. Wall to wall tapestry was very dirty. In one corner it looked as if someone had spat or poured something out. No TV channels in English, e.g. BBC or CNN, are down. All in all, a pretty bad experience at a far too high price.
Snob Hotel

Stayed for Fri and Sat night and slept so well in the comfy bed. There was not a sound to be heard in room 501 though the hotel is based in the busy Le Marais area. Free coffee and water available in the lobby and lovely seats are available outside to sit and watch the world go by. There is a great young guy working there and he seemed to work a 24 hour shift-give the guy a raise☺️Room 501 is small but hey, this is Paris. Gorgeous bathroom and shower and tea/coffee making facilities available in the room. Overall, we were very happy with the Snob.

Paris Marais Loft

The apartment is located in the third arrondissement of Paris, on the edge of Pompidou, not far from Notre Dame and the Louvre. The security is very good and it is safer. 2. There is a subway station a few hundred meters away from the apartment. The airport can take RER to the apartment. The traffic is also very convenient. 3. The apartment area is relatively large, with close to 50 square meters. Generally speaking, the hotel is less than 20 square meters. The kitchen, washing machine, etc. are all available. There is also a conversion plug-in downstairs, which can charge mobile phones and charging treasures, which is especially convenient. The attic upstairs is very comfortable to sleep, of course there is a sofa bed downstairs, which can accommodate 4 people. Mr. Yiwen, the landlord, is a very gentlemanly Frenchman and is very interested in Chinese culture. We waited for us for a long time before arriving at the apartment (the exit is slow), waited for us under the apartment and helped us take the boxes, and enthusiastically introduced the layout of the apartment, electrical use, etc. after arriving at the apartment, it was very nice, and bought us a few oranges. The taste was particularly good. Mr. Yiwen is very enthusiastic, inviting us to another apartment to be a guest, and also planning to help us to change the ticket to the train station, it is really good.
