Premier Inn Fareham ★★★

"Do not book a room without air con if the weather is warm / hot. We booked 2 rooms, We stayed in May just as there was a brief heatwave, The room was so hot, we opened the door & instantly were hit with stifling hot air in the room, we knew it was to hot to sleep in, the hotel knew, they had put in 2 mobile fans in attempt to cool before we arrived & left window open (no sleep due to noise of fans & blowing curtains moving letting in light) we left window open (no sleep due to traffic) it was still unbearably hot, all literally sweating laid on top of covers, shower at 4am to try & cool, asked to be moved, told only 12 rooms with air con & non available. Nice to know lots of sweaty people are using the beds! Complained by email, said they’d reply within 5 days, they didn’t. Left exhausted. We won’t ever use Premier inn again. Top it off the bathroom was dirty, thick dirt around the taps, stains on the wall by the toilet & cups left to make a drink dirty."

Lodge at Solent ★★★

"Booked and arrived late in evening and check in was quick and smooth. Free parking on site too. Room was clean and spacious. Food in the Parsons was good, ordered just before 9pm and arrived in good time. Cheesy garlic bread was good, a good cheese pull, and the cheese and onion burger was very nice too. Bed was comfy enough for the night. Check out was quick and easy to do also. Would recommend."

Red Lion Hotel by Greene King Inns ★★★

"The room is spacious but no stand for baggage, we have to put the baggage on the floor. The double bed is clean but dented. Breakfast is delicious and have different choices."

Holiday Inn Express PORTSMOUTH - GUNWHARF QUAYS by IHG ★★★

"I will start with the positives. Great location, free parking, breakfast included. Value for money, not that much. £145 a night for an average hotel, reception located on the 1st floor, a little strange. Room, approximately ok, not very clean. A lot of stains on walls, mattress not great. Annoyingly, there was a sofa bed in the room, that was extended, although the booking was made for 2 people, king size bed, the sofa took all the space in the room with no access to window curtains. Why was it extended I don’t know Breakfast, reasonable, and team looked like they didn’t want to be there. Overall one of the least value for money hotel I’ve stayed at, great location, poor cleaning, needs a refurb"
