Amazing
Amazing view of the ocean from our room - the property sits right in front of the ocean. From the verandah in front of your room, you can watch the waves the whole day, there is no need to go to any of the beaches in Mirissa. Breakfast was delicious too, and they even cooked the fish we caught (for a fee). However, don't expect the same creature comforts of an international 4 or 5 star hotel despite being priced higher. The furniture is also rather dated and the room was not very clean. Overall a decent and memorable experience.

We stayed for a week at this hotel and later prolonged our stay after traveling to other places in Sri Lanka. Mirissa is amazing. And this hotel's location is perfect, next to beautiful Zouk restaurant. We could also relax on the terrace and enjoy the sunset, watching flying foxes. The room was nice and clean. We had everything we needed. The best local breakfast we have had in Sri Lanka with green curry. The owner family is incredibly nice and friendly. They helped us with any question and were always polite and smiling. It was a very pleasant stay. When we return to Sri Lanka we'll stay at this hotel in Mirissa.

We stayed for 6 nights with breakfast included — and honestly, it felt like a little home in paradise. 🌴 From the moment we arrived, the hosts (couple) were incredibly warm and welcoming. They always made sure everything was comfortable. The place itself is tucked away from the noise, so it’s peaceful but still just a short walk to the beach, cafes, and restos. The room was clean, spacious, and cozy, with great natural light and good AC — perfect after a long beach day. The Wi-Fi was reliable as well. Breakfast every morning was freshly made and absolutely delicious — fruits, eggs, toast, and the kind of Sri Lankan fruit juice that makes you want to stay forever. 🍳☕ What stood out most was the hospitality. The owners went above and beyond to help us with any query we had. You can really feel the care and kindness in this family-run place. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, and genuinely friendly stay in Mirissa, Village Star Rest deserves all the stars. 🌟 Highly recommended — We would love to come back again!

Great location, waking distance to the beach. Loads of restaurants and shops around. Room matched the photos, clean and spacious. The water pressure in the shower isn’t the best but duable. You can hear music at night on the weekends but not too crazy and loud. Enjoyed staying here

Good location. It is in beach road and plenty of options to eat outside. Everything is in walkable distance. We had sea view room which gave a beautiful start to the day in early morning. The only thing that troubled me was there was no elevator hence I had to take the luggage through stairs to 2nd floor. The owner helped me as well to carry the luggage. I would definitely recommend this place for your stay as it provides a good atmosphere. They have a kitchen for your self cooking where you can prepare your own food. Just steps away from Coconut Tree Hill, Triple o Six was our perfect base in Mirissa. It’s close enough to town, without all the noise. It smells SO good in the lobby and the staff are so friendly. One even tried to help us get a gecko out of our room. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special. It’s been one of our favorite stays in Sri Lanka so far. Thank you!!

My wife and i had a fantastic stay at coral beach hotel. Very friendly staff. They even gave my wife a lovely gift on our departure. Highly recommended. Watch the surfers from your own private balcony un the sunshine.

TTraveling TanI enjoyed my time at Ara Beach Resort, thanks to its excellent location and the fabulous pool. The staff were friendly and added to the resort's pleasant atmosphere.
However, I'd suggest a little more focus on cleaning and keeping the buffet breakfast items hot. The food was delicious but consistently served cold.
With these small changes, Ara Beach Resort could be even more wonderful.
