The door code was very convenient, and the apartment itself was clean. The location was excellent, just a short walk to both the beach and the city center. Parking was available on a nearby street for €5 per day. Cleaning, bed linen, and towels were included in the price, and customer service via WhatsApp was quick and responsive. However, there were some downsides. The kitchen was poorly equipped – for example, there was only one spoon and one glass per person, and the dishes were of the cheapest quality from IKEA. The photos online did not fully reflect reality, as not all apartments have air conditioning, a washing machine, or an oven. Our balcony only had two chairs and a small table, while others had plants, a swing, or wooden flooring, which made ours feel quite bare. In the bathroom, there was no holder for toilet paper, and the roll had simply been placed on top of the toilet brush. No basic cleaning supplies were provided – a dustpan and brush, for instance, would have been very useful. Additionally, water from the upstairs air conditioner dripped down onto our balcony. Without air conditioning, the apartment was uncomfortably hot. We had requested two air-conditioned apartments more than a month in advance, but only one of them had it. It’s also worth noting that each apartment is very different, so you cannot be sure in advance what kind of room you’ll get – the differences can be significant.
