We had a lovely time at La Pausa, despite the uninspiring weather during our visit. The hotel has excellent views of the lake and our cabin was a tad rustic, but very comfortable. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed just hanging around the grounds. The gas fires on the veranda are a great idea too. Staff could not have been more helpful, both on WhatsApp and in person. The restaurant is on the more expensive side for dinner, but we enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was delicious. We were woken up at 6am by a neighbour’s gardener cutting grass, which wasn’t ideal. The staff could not have been more sorry, but there was realistically nothing they could have done about it.

Beautiful natural setting. The room was well set-up and we appreciated the unexpected small kitchenette. Enjoyed using the complimentary SUPs for a morning paddle. Perfect for a romantic weekend away.

An incredible and relaxing getaway! Everything was perfect—the lake views, the serene surroundings, the cabin, the location, the beauty of nature, the water, and the two fantastic on-site restaurants. The food was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and having our private jacuzzi made it even more special. We spent a few blissful days simply being present and soaking it all in, as we had explored the area before. The jet ski ride around the lake, along with visiting El Peñol by water, was breathtaking.

Wonderful hotel to stay for a stress free- peaceful vacation. The food and drinks in the hotel restaurants were amazing. We are looking forward for longer vacation in this hotel.

Our experience at Hotel La Pausa was very disappointing. The cleaning ladies and waiters are polite and decent, but the man at the front desk is opportunistic, unfriendly, and has a very poor attitude. They even tried to charge us for services we did not use. The Wi-Fi never worked during our entire stay, and the water —as shown in our video— was dirty at all times. On top of that, the front desk man doesn’t greet guests upon arrival or say goodbye upon departure, showing a total lack of courtesy. For the high prices they charge, the quality of service is terrible. We would not return and do not recommend this place.
