"not bad place to stay for 1 night. the location is good, despite our room is near street and elevator, bit noisy"
Shap Wells Hotel
"Wouldn’t stay here again. There was one person running the place - at the bar, dinner and breakfast. If he wasn’t there, the place would crash. It was all a bit of a comedy show!"
Albany House
"Great stay with work. Very accommodating and welcoming. Really lovely breakfast and comfortable high quality room. Wish I had had more time to stay longer. Easy walk into town and local amenities. Safe, convenient and easy stay. Thank you"
Travelodge Penrith
"A BIG SHOUT OUT FOR JASMINE! The hotel was great, but the receptionist Jasmine made our trip unforgettable. When we were stuck with no taxis available over the bank holiday, she kindly offered to drive us into town herself. Such a genuine, thoughtful act of kindness that you don’t come across often. We really appreciated it and it says everything about the level of care. Thank you again Jasmine ***** Holly & Luci xx"
Penrith
"Booked this hotel as an overnight stay to break up our journey to the lakes. We arrived at 7.15pm. It was dark and the hotel is quite tricky to find. The car park is so poorly lit, so hard to navigate parking. The girl who served us was very friendly but advised us that the lift was broken. We were on the 2nd floor with heavy bags. We found this a struggle with heavy bags, and my husband has mobility issues which did not help either. The stairs were absolutely filthy. I don't think they had seen a hoover in a long time. We were advised that food was stopped being served at 8pm, and it was a 'bottle bar' that was closing at 9pm. After a long journey we wanted a few drinks and food. But we opted just for drinks as the bar/restraunt area had a strong smell of cooking grease, and it was so cold as the aircon was blasting freezing cold air. The food ventilation system must be broken. The bar set-up is very odd. This public space had no music or anything, making it awkward and uninviting. We had a premier plus room which was fine, sainsburys bottled water in the fridge is not a good look though. Would not stay here again. The manager needs to put some effort into this hotel."

Glendale Guest House
"stayed one night, single room £55 plus £5 for breakfast. Very good deal when compared with the competition. Located a short walk from the town centre. Parking can be an issue in Penrith, but Glendale are lucky to have a cheap public car park just a minute's walk away! Parking is free 6pm until 8am. Glendale is definitely a high quality B&B, fully refurbed mid 1800's spacious building oozes character with its decor, carefully selected furniture and adornments in the shared areas. My room was immaculate. The owners are very friendly and attentive and obviously go the extra mile to please their guests. 5* will return"
Abbey House B & B
"We had a lovely one night stay at Abbey House. The rooms were charming and warm, with many thoughtful touches. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. We had a delicious full breakfast before we headed off, and a lovely chat with Vicky our host. We were so pleased with our stay - hopefully we can come back again one day :)"
Brooklands Guest House
"BEAUTIFUL! We had a lovely little stay here such a stunning guest house. The decor is something else found myself walking around fascinated by all the historical items. Sue is very kind and helpful and made us feel at home. I love the attention to detail here, water in fridge, biscuits, even umbrellas at front door. The rooms are beautiful and quirky and such comfy beds. Breakfast was very tasty all home cooked to perfection. Area was lovely and quiet and only 3min walk into Penrith town, Perfect location for walk in lakes. We will certainly be back. This is definitely worth a visit you won’t be disappointed! Thanks again Sue"

The White House Guest House
"Pru the owner is a wonderfully welcoming lady. My solo room with private bathroom was spotless and has all the facilities you require. Breakfast was fab using local ingredients, full range of full English, fresh fruits, yoghurts etc. would highly recommend"
Lane Head Farm Country Guest House
"We stayed a weekend at Lane Head Farm Country Guest House and had a great experience. The location is superb, offering countryside tranquillity with a quick connection to the many walking locations the Lake District has to offer. There's a modern kitchen open to guests and a cosy lounge area as well as a hot tub in the garden with some cracking views. The owner, Suruchi, saw to it that we had everything we needed and was attentive to our needs. She also gave me a cake on my birthday, which was incredibly generous and far beyond what I'd expect of a B&B host. The breakfasts served were all unique and delicious, based on seasonal ingredients and our preferences. The room was spacious, clean, and well equipped. The beds were particularly comfy, which offer a real luxury of duvets under and over where you sleep - like nothing we've ever experienced but incredibly comfortable. For the price we paid, we thought the B&B was great value for money. This B&B is a true gem of the Lake District and a must for vegans or vegetarians."
Roundthorn Country House & Luxury Apartments
"This is a really good quality hotel, excellent staff. We were given a free upgrade to an Apartment. Excellent breakfast."
Macdonald Leeming House
"Lovely setting, it’s a pity we felt rushed for our evening meal. Would recommend a stay."
