Phi Phi Sand Sea View Resort

The location was excellent and the hut was beautiful and Set in a gorgeous location. The service was indifferent at best, vaguely hostile otherwise, lol. Fine, I was just there for the room and I got what I paid for. No room tidying (eg sand sweeping) during our 2 night stay but nor did we ask. Great location; very quiet but close enough to the action. Mind the noisy cat that insists on snacks and scratches if you’re inadequate in your offerings. Resulted in preventative rabies treatment. Costly, dramatic + no swimming. Indeed, consider not patting any of the many cute cats on the island on that basis. Our beach front hut, called “1A”, visible at right of photo. Had kettle, small safe (not big enough for laptop), aircon worked but slow to cool from hot. Bed fine. Bathroom not a feature, but fine and functional. Gorgeous wood paneling. Space not huge but perfectly sufficient. We loved our location and would totally stay again.

I hate to leave negative reviews, but unfortunately I have to in this case. The hotel is in a great location right on the beach, and if you don’t encounter the problem I did, it would be a wonderful place to stay. My room had an issue every morning where hundreds of black flies would appear. I’m not sure where they came from, but as soon as I woke up and turned on a light, they would start arriving inside the room and swarming around the light fitting. I bought a can of Baygon spray, treated the room, then went out for an hour before coming back to clean everything up myself. Once the sunshine outside became brighter than the light inside, the flies would disappear. They only came in the early morning. Perhaps it was only this particular room in the main block that had the problem, and I was simply unlucky to be assigned it.

The hotel is in a nice location, a little bit further away from the main town but nice and quiet with its own section of beach. The huts themselves are nice and have easy access to the sea if you want to swim in there. Sadly our stay wasn’t great, everything in the hut felt sticky and not that clean to the point that we didn’t really want to walk around without footwear. The duvet didn’t have a cover on it which wasn’t great. You can hear everything from the huts around you and we had a loud neighbour that would be talking loudly in the middle of the night and just to top it off we had to get multiple cockroaches removed from our room which really wasn’t what we were expecting from somewhere which was quite expensive for Thailand standards. I can’t say I would stay again or I would recommend this accommodation.

This was a really cute bungalow on the beach, which added to our experience of staying on Phi Phi. However, the bed was rock hard and the air con kept switching itself off in the night so we kept waking up sweating! The light from it was also really bright so I had to wear an eye mask to sleep. You can also hear the whole island from your hut, and a lot of the Thai residents were working at night nearby, so it was very noisy and required ear plugs! There were lots of little bugs in the woodwork mainly, the shower wasn’t great and got the bathroom very wet. Also, any trips or taxi boats were quite expensive from the woman at reception, we managed to get a 4hr private long tail for 2300baht total. A lot of these things were to be expected, and isn’t too much of a complaint against the resort itself, but something for you to bear in mind when choosing to stay here.

I booked this room for my brother while we were in a more affordable room. The bungalows are cute and he loved it.

Very cute bungalow, nice walk into town, friendly staff On the negative side sliding door was a struggle to close, tv didn’t work, wall in these are thin and voices may wake you repeatedly .
