Vrest Hotel

As a solo traveler, I spent 3 nights at this hotel and was quite satisfied with my stay. The hotel is close to the center, although it is still wise to take a tuk-tuk to get to the embankment and the Royal Palace. But I walked, and it is quite doable if you walk early in the morning or in the evening after sunset. There are a couple of chain restaurants with chicken cuisine within walking distance from the hotel. You will have to take transport to get to 7-eleven. At first, I was checked into a room with a balcony, but soon the air conditioning stopped working, and I was offered another room with apologies. During the chaotic move, I left my sneakers and shower gel in the old room, which were brought only the next day, when I raised the alarm. Otherwise, everything was great. As a photographer, a huge advantage for me was the observation deck on the roof of the building, from which I took a lot of atmospheric photos of the city. On the same deck there is an unusual glass pool - it is beautifully illuminated at night, but I did not dare to swim in it. Breakfasts are not fancy, but they cooked fried eggs or omelettes to order, and I was quite happy. No complaints about the room - it was comfortable and quite cozy, the most important thing was that there was a convenient work area, a refrigerator, and the air conditioner worked. But there was no hot water in the shower, it was room temperature, it did not interfere with freshening up, and I did not complain. Free wi-fi worked fine. The staff was unhurried, but friendly. Overall, I would gladly stay at this hotel again, given the competitive price of accommodation. I also recommend Phnom Penh for travelers and photographers - the city has a lot to do and see.
