Right by the Mekong River in Phnom Penh, so there are plenty of places to walk and things to do. The breakfast is excellent, especially the Khmer noodle soup, which is a real highlight and perfect for a hangover cure. However, there's no swimming pool, and the gym is in a separate building, which is inconvenient. On weekends, they close the riverside road to traffic for the night market, so you can't get dropped off directly in front of the hotel by car. You have to get out nearby and walk for about 5 minutes. There's also a bit of noise.

Room is clean and big. Breakfast is great, provide both buffet and a larcart menus which you can choose and enjoy

An excellent hotel with top-notch service and facilities. The off-season rates were very reasonable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The location is also fantastic, right near the Grand Palace.

An absolutely perfect experience. The views are excellent; the west side faces the Mekong River, and the east side faces the Royal Palace, with the east side being much quieter. The service is attentive; someone helped with my luggage as soon as I got out of the car, and the front desk staff were very kind. The room facilities are new, soundproofing is good, and the shower amenities are L'Occitane. Breakfast is of French standard. To be more economical, it's an à la carte menu. Both Western and Chinese options are available, and everything is prepared exquisitely.

Hotel KVL is a solid city base in Phnom Penh with a good location and views over the Mekong River. It’s close to the main bar area and a weekend street market, but that also means the road in front is closed from around 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, so it’s worth checking how that might affect your arrival or departure. Make sure you get the exact room type you booked, as there can be discrepancies, and note that the water pressure is on the weaker side, though everything else in the room works well. Breakfast is decent with enough variety, and overall the hotel offers a nice urban contrast to the resort feel of the Park Hyatt in Siem Reap.

The hotel was pretty good, and they offered a complimentary drink upon check-in. The only downside was that it rained during the weekend market, making it impossible for a taxi to drop us off directly in front. That was quite inconvenient.

I stayed at Hotel KVL with a friend and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent. The riverside view is relaxing and beautiful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this hotel!

Overall, a pleasant stay with friendly staff and quality room amenities. The river view rooms provide a good view of the sunrise, although it can get a little noisy at night. The breakfast selection and quality however wasn’t the best. What marred the experience the most was a request to pay for the laundry bag during check out, a first for me at any hotel.

As a Ctrip member for 10 years, having traveled to 80 countries worldwide, this is my first-ever bad review. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience globally. The hotel is located near the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh. During the Water Festival, a large area around it was restricted, and no vehicles were allowed within a 3km radius of the KVL Hotel. I, alone, with a 30-inch suitcase, tried to get a taxi at the bus stop late at night, calling over ten times. No drivers would take me. When I finally got into one, the driver showed me on his app that due to road restrictions, he couldn't get there. So, I had to switch to another hotel. Afterward, I asked Ctrip customer service to negotiate a refund with the hotel, but they refused, and their attitude was extremely poor. Was I supposed to walk four kilometers to your hotel in Phnom Penh, known for its late-night kidney-harvesting rumors?! 🤢 Everyone, please, whatever you do, do not stay here! I am reporting this with my real name!! Ctrip only refunded 40 points, which isn't my fault, so why should the guest pay the price?
