Coecco Xieng Khouang Hotel
4/510 Reviews
It was really speechless. The front desk actually led us to another small hotel with a listing price of only 100,000k. The room conditions were so bad that we resolutely refused to accept it, so we reluctantly arranged the room. To be honest, I feel bad after experiencing this. The room is very cold. What's interesting is that the quilt is actually a summer quilt. It is very thin and has no quilt. It is not really unacceptable for every guest to change the bedding. English at the front desk is very poor and almost impossible to communicate. There is noddle and soup for breakfast, which taste good, and Lao coffee is also worth a try.
Anoulackkhenlao Hotel

The hotel here is nice. The area is bad, but that is to be expected when traveling to a rural area. Upon arriving you’ll immediately be pressured into buying a tour. The price I was offered was $100 for two people. The tour was from 8-4. They do bring you to all the sites which for us was good. We had an uncomfortable experience on the second day of our tour (which was booked through the hotel) it was only supposed to be $80 for a half day where they then take us to the airport, but instead at the end he charged us $95 in the local currency. Overall I would recommend the hotel, but no need to book a tour with them.
Pukyo Bed and Breakfast Belgian Lao
4.6/514 Reviews
We are a widely travelled couple in our 50's and recommend Pukyo for travelers of all ages. The owners are a Belgian and Lao couple who live next door and their help, service and hospitality is unbelievable. David drove us to and from the airport as well as to an interesting silk farm. We got to know his daughters and he cooked breakfast for us and a delicious curry for dinner. Sakhone took us on an all day tour of the highlights of the areas including three Plain of Jars sites. She is so knowledgable, a good driver and is fun to hang out with. The rooms are clean and basic with some homey touches. The bed was comfortable and it was pretty quiet. Phonsavanh is not an easy place to get to (a short flight is best) but it is worth it as this is an interesting area of Laos to go to after you have visited Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane - it has a lot of important history.
