Novotel Phu Quoc Resort

Great location, but the facilities are just so-so. The breakfast offers a lot of variety, but it's not very tasty. Despite the older facilities, the hotel is kept clean.

This isn't our first time staying at this hotel. Overall, we really like this hotel and its location. The staff is friendly. However, this time it was very crowded. When booking, I requested a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator. In the end, we were given a room on the first floor and closest to the elevator, which somewhat spoiled our stay because it was noisy with people constantly walking by and smoking right outside our window.

Spent the whole day at the hotel, and in the evening, there were plenty of great restaurants within walking distance, which was lovely. It would also be great to use the sunbeds and swimming pool bar at the beach.

The room condition wasn't bad, and having Sonasi Market right in front made our trip very convenient. There were many guests traveling with their families. For younger people, there's a bar at Sonasi Night Market that stays open the latest, so it's good for late-night drinks. We stayed for 5 nights, and on the last day, we were so tired that we overslept. The kind staff helped us with a late check-out. I received a lot of kind help from staff members VINH and TAI. This seems like a good choice for a budget-friendly stay.

Absolutely the worst experience ever! 😡 After checking in and taking a shower, I stepped out of the room only to find there was no electricity. Around 4:10 PM, they told us they'd switch our room, but an hour later, by 5:10 PM, nothing had been resolved. Since there was no electricity, I couldn't use a hairdryer, of course. Our restaurant reservation was approaching, so I kept telling the staff, 'Our reservation time is almost here; we need to leave now.' But they just kept apologizing and saying they'd check, telling us to wait. Even after we told them we had waited long enough and it was already too late, the staff still said, 'We're bringing a new hairdryer,' and asked us to wait again. Seriously, what's the point of bringing a hairdryer when there's no electricity in the room at all? I told them multiple times there was no power, so getting such a response was incredibly frustrating. As a result, I ended up arriving late and looking like a mess at Kamia Restaurant, which I had eagerly booked to take some 'life shots' during my trip, all because I couldn't properly dry my hair. It was infuriating that a hotel issue ruined such an important part of my travel itinerary. After returning from the restaurant, I told the hotel that we had waited an hour due to the room's electricity problem, which made us late for our restaurant reservation, and that we wanted compensation. All the hotel did was move us to the room right next door. They couldn't even properly fix the room issue from the start, made us wait for an hour, and only when the customer directly complained and asked for compensation did they finally bother to move us to another room. Their response was truly disappointing. It wasn't the problem itself, but their handling of it afterward, that was absolutely terrible. I can't understand how this kind of service belongs to a 5-star hotel. I truly regret the accommodation cost, and I'm even more furious that one of the most anticipated parts of my trip was ruined. I never want to visit this hotel again.

Excellent place for a seaside vacation. I particularly love the pool by the sea. There's a night market nearby. It's a bit far to get to the north from here, but the south is more accessible time-wise. Nevertheless, I still liked the location itself.
