JW Marriott Phu Quoc is truly like stepping into a fairy tale university castle! Designed by Bill Bensley in an Indochine-retro style, the entire resort is set up as a 19th-century French university, with macaron-colored schoolhouses and carved columns. Every corner is incredibly photogenic.
The hotel boasts exclusive access to Khem private beach, where the water is as clear and refreshing as jelly, and you might even spot starfish in the shallow areas – the atmosphere is absolutely perfect. The dining is consistently excellent, with a variety of restaurants offering diverse cuisines. Both breakfast and dinner by the sea are outstanding.
There's also a super interesting hidden game: there are 48 QR code checkpoints hidden throughout the resort. Following the treasure hunt takes you all over the estate, and collecting all the checkpoints allows you to redeem a voucher worth millions of Vietnamese Dong, essentially equivalent to cash for hotel expenses. Vacation isn't just about relaxing; exploring a beautifully designed hotel while on a treasure hunt makes for an incredibly engaging experience.

Staying at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay during our trip to Phu Quoc was an absolute delight and completely lived up to its stellar reputation as a top-tier resort.
Designed by Bill Bensley and themed around the fictional 19th-century French Lamarck University, every detail—from the lobby library and faculty buildings to the grand corridors—is rich with storytelling. You can snap stunning, highly atmospheric photos just by taking a casual stroll around the property.
The resort grounds are expansive, featuring multiple swimming pools, the most famous of which is the seashell-shaped mosaic pool right by the beach. The private Khem Beach boasts powdery white sand and crystal-clear water; with very few tourists around, it's the perfect spot to zone out and gaze at the sea. Buggies are always just a call away, making it effortless to explore the entire resort.
Our ocean-view room featured retro color-blocking decor and a massive viewing balcony—you just had to push open the windows to take in the stunning views of Emerald Bay. The room amenities were fully stocked, daily welcome fruits were provided, and the overall stay was exceptionally comfortable.
The breakfast spread was lavish, offering a mix of international cuisine and authentic Vietnamese snacks, with the freshly made pho tasting particularly fantastic. The hotel's supporting facilities, including restaurants, the spa, and various activities, are comprehensive, allowing you to spend a completely relaxing island holiday without ever leaving the property.
The service was attentive and meticulous, ensuring a wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. It’s an ideal place for a chill, do-nothing vacation, and staying here in Phu Quoc is an absolute safe bet.

The hotel is aesthetically stunning and the rooms are very spacious, making it great for taking photos. The absolute highlight for me was the breakfast—it was amazing, and the steamed rice rolls were insanely good! The hotel service was also top-notch, and the staff were all very patient.

This hotel is nestled within a scenic area, boasting white sands, swaying palm trees, and numerous infinity pools. The restaurant, in particular, is a highlight; there's no need to seek out trendy 'sunset' restaurants elsewhere. The hotel's beachfront restaurant offers stunning views, and the food is absolutely delicious, all at a really reasonable price.

I've wanted to visit this hotel ever since it opened ten years ago!🏨 For various reasons, I'm finally making it happen today, a decade later✌️. The beach and sea view exceeded my expectations; they're absolutely stunning✨. It's a fantastic spot for a vacation⛱️, and the hotel service was excellent, especially Eason. It's a shame my stay was so short this time, and the National Day premium was quite steep. Maybe next time🤔️, I'll plan to stay a bit longer.

A truly beautiful hotel, hands down the most stunning Marriott I've ever seen! Highly recommend staying here. The hotel's check-in activities were also quite fun, and the credit we received upon completion was more than enough to spend within the hotel.

The service at the Marriott Hotel was excellent. The check-in process and the introduction were particularly impressive. The room was great, and they offered unlimited coconuts. The hotel's private beach had a beautiful view. The beef pho at the breakfast restaurant was the best I've ever had, even better than those in Vietnamese street restaurants – I had four bowls! I was satisfied with every aspect. Highly recommend!

This hotel is excellent in every aspect, from its hardware facilities and natural environment to its service – I was thoroughly impressed. As a rather discerning traveler, I have almost nothing to complain about. It's a night-and-day difference compared to my previous stay at Wyndham.
The hotel's design concept is set against a fictional European university. The lobby decor is elegant, without excessive luxury or ostentation. Upon check-in, you don't need to go to the front desk yourself; simply sit down and relax, and someone will come over to offer a welcome drink and process your check-in. Afterward, a buggy will take you to your room, and it's available on-call throughout your stay.
Each building has a theme, based on the departments of this virtual university. The rooms are well-designed with great views. Upon entering, we found a welcome coconut from the hotel, and they had also thoughtfully prepared children's toothbrushes and small slippers in advance. After turndown service, they even folded a small elephant out of towels for the child, which shows their meticulous attention to detail.
The service was also satisfactory. Almost every staff member I encountered, whether on beach duty or tending to the gardens, would actively smile and greet guests. They tried their best to fulfill my requests during my stay and even provided a complimentary extra bed for my child because of my larger size, allowing us to rest better.
Regarding dining, the breakfast at the hotel was diverse and of good quality. It wasn't like many hotels where there's a dazzling array of food but only a few edible options. Our whole family found food they loved, and I particularly recommend the coconut coffee, eggs Benedict, and Vietnamese steamed rice rolls. The bar, inspired by a chemistry lab, is worth a visit, and the apple pie at the cafe was a hit with the kids. We didn't go to the Pink Pearl restaurant for dinner; instead, we ate at the same place as breakfast, and the food was good, and the price was reasonable. I recommend the roasted beef ribs – they were tender and flavorful.
For entertainment, the beach sand is soft and fine, the water is warm and shallow, with no big waves. Free kayaks are available, and you can see many interesting small things like starfish in the clear water. The hotel also has an app. After downloading it, you can participate in a hotel-wide scavenger hunt for hidden QR codes. Following the map on the app feels like playing a computer game. After scanning all 48 codes, you can redeem a 1 million VND voucher at the front desk, which can be directly used for various hotel expenses – a truly satisfying achievement.
As for drawbacks, if I had to nitpick, the pool and beach close a bit early, the refrigerator in the room had slightly poor cooling, and while the bed was comfortable, it was a bit noisy, creaking with every slight turn. These are minor issues that didn't affect my satisfaction with this stay at all. Next time I come to Phu Quoc, I won't need to go anywhere else; I'll just stay at this hotel until I return home.

Before my trip, I emailed the hotel and received a very cold response, which lowered my expectations. However, to my surprise, it was absolutely amazing when I arrived! The hotel environment has received countless positive reviews online, so I won't elaborate further. I'll mainly talk about the room and service. We were given a room on the third floor. Although it wasn't an upgrade, we could still see a slight glimpse of the sea. The room facilities weren't as old as some online comments suggested. The staff were incredibly nice, offering service with a smile that made us feel right at home. The beach sand was fine, and the sea was shallow with small waves, perfect for various water activities. Five-star rating!

This hotel has both very distinct pros and cons.
The hygiene was simply appalling. For a supposedly high-end hotel, the cleanliness and attention to detail were on par with a budget motel. First, when I checked in, the room had a strong musty smell. Then, the cushion on the chair was wrinkled and stained with old dirt. The windows hadn't been cleaned, so condensation had mixed with a layer of dust, creating a foggy appearance. There were patchy water stains on the floor from mopping, and walking barefoot quickly left my soles black. There was also dust in various corners of the room. The lack of proper hygiene was so significant that even in such a spacious room, my first impression upon entering was far from impressive.
The food was also terrible; each restaurant had its own unique way of being bad. However, the pastry shop was excellent! By chance, I stumbled upon the best baguette of my life (though my experience with 'white people food' is limited). The happy hour drinks were also well worth it, and you absolutely must try the calamari roll!!!
As for the service, it was just okay. When I reported the strange smell in the room, their first response was to send an air purifier, not offer a room change. When I requested a room change, the housekeeper took ages to arrive, leaving us awkwardly waiting in the room with the shuttle staff. They also messed up my candle-making class reservation. And late at night, when there were strange noises in the room, they sent a service staff member who spoke neither Mandarin nor English to help.
Despite all this, the hotel is indeed very beautiful. Although it's showing its age a bit, the vibrant architectural color palette, the intricate patterned floor tiles, the high domed ceilings, and the ceiling fans all contribute to a feeling of lazy romance.
All in all, it's worth experiencing once, but only once.

The most beautiful JW globally, definitely worth a visit! Every corner is picture-perfect. Breakfast was delicious, but the service was just so-so. As for the shuttle bus to leave, you pretty much need luck to catch one.

I'd long heard that JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay was hailed as the most beautiful Marriott in the world, designed by the renowned Bill Bensley. The entire hotel is themed around a fictional academy, with every corner offering a picturesque view, blending architecture with tropical gardens – perfect for photos. This September, I visited during the off-peak season and stayed in a Turquoise Suite, and the experience far exceeded my expectations.
The Turquoise Suite is incredibly spacious, with a 90㎡ open-plan layout. It features a French retro academic style and comes with an expansive ocean-view terrace, offering unobstructed views of the sunrise over the sea. In the morning, there's no need to rush to the beach; you can simply wait on the balcony for the sunrise, watching the sky transform from blue to orange as the sunlight spreads across the ocean – truly romantic. The room is well-maintained, has excellent natural light, and the dual independent showers are very convenient for two guests.
The hotel breakfast offers a rich selection, including Chinese, Western, and local Vietnamese dishes, live cooking stations, and a variety of tropical fruits. I highly recommend their signature avocado smoothie – freshly made, creamy, and refreshing; it's a taste I couldn't forget throughout the entire trip.
Here’s a little-known hidden gem of an activity at the hotel: download the official hotel app to participate in a QR code treasure hunt around the grounds. There are 48 QR codes hidden throughout the estate. You can search for them while strolling around and exploring the hotel, allowing you to immerse yourself in Bill Bensley's ingenious design. Once you collect all the QR codes, you can redeem a 1,000,000 VND voucher at the front desk, which can be directly used for dining expenses within the hotel. It's a lot of fun.
The hotel grounds are extensive, with landscape design full of storytelling, excellent privacy, and friendly, polite staff. If you're coming to Phu Quoc and want an immersive度假 experience and to witness the sunrise over the sea, the Turquoise Suite is highly recommended and worth a special visit.

The best decision I made coming to Phu Quoc! Just chilling at JW Marriott the whole time 😭
It's truly deserving of its reputation as the 'most beautiful JW'! I regret only booking it for my last night [face with a tear R][face with a tear R][face with a tear R]
The French retro collegiate style is absolutely stunning. The entire resort feels like an island castle 🎓. Every corner is picturesque, no filters needed for photos.
🌊 The check-in experience was incredibly comfortable. We were offered chilled welcome drinks and cold towels upon arrival, instantly cooling us down in the tropical heat. The service was gentle, responsive, and consistently attentive.
🏝️ The resort grounds are huge but a joy to explore. The private white sand beach is uncrowded, clean, and fine. There are multiple infinity pools and abundant greenery. Perfect for walks, photos, or just relaxing. #PhuQuoc
