Found this hotel by chance online. An absolute gem. So booked online, hotel prices were quite reasonable so we booked a private villa with a pool. Easy booking online. Getting there was not easy, it’s a new hotel so not on Grab, or any map at the time for that matter. But driver found it. It’s inland so either get a motorcycle/scooter or car for easy in and out trips. Check-in was warm and pleasant. Loved that tea - I kept asking for more. Hotel was not fully operational in August, felt like a pre opening stage, but everything was up and running. Staff were great. Villa was just amazing. Clean, simple but with everything you need. A walk-in type closet to hang your clothes. Superb bathroom (that bath was something else). Sliding doors (bathroom and room) access to the desk by the private pool. All clean and new and so comfortable. Wifi was excellent. Breakfast was great, with the staff being warm and kind and helpful. In fact everything on their menu was great. Gym was great. The main infinity pool was just beautiful, with nice views of chalong bay. So yes we extended a few times - thanks to the manager and staff (thanks Bee). We checked other villas just to compare - all looked nice. We rented a scooter to zip around and go to the Muay Thai area for some sports, and were able to go to the beaches nearby or city to get on a boat etc. All in all, a superb spot. My favorite hotel of the year. Would love to go back.

My major disappointment was I paid more for a move pool. Zero sun at any time of day by the pool. In my whole stay I did not sit by the pretty pool that looks fab on the website but just ok in reality. When I asked on arrival they said between 11-1 but that’s if you want to tan an arm through a gap in the tree at a time and that’s for 5 mins. Seriously no tanning pool. It’s also freezing as never sees the sun. It is clean though as no one goes in. Go to Signature or literally anywhere else for a better pool. The sister pool you can use but it’sa long walk, ugly pool and no vibe as with this hotel. Ok that’s out of the way. 2. I walked past the same large piece of something gross on the stair for 5 days even after I asked if the staff. They make your bed badly but that’s about it. 3. My shower head is full of limescale and hard to get my shampoo out as it’s pathetic. On telling them they said thank you, good point we will think about it. Eh? How about cleaning it or moving me? 4. No long mirror. Girls you can see what you look like from tummy up and only in the bathroom. 5. So badly lit room even if 5 lights. All like mood lighting so when night hits, you might look like Bridget Jones on a night out so use your phone light! 6. They just don’t care as they did nothing to make my stay more comfortable. 7. Cheaper or 100% equivalent prices for far superior places. Don’t let the nice website fall you. I spent a lot of time at a pool at a place half the price can you believe or Signature or Cocoville which is lush. Don’t stay. I won’t next year. This place as a time and training though totally rocks!

Great location if you’re wanting to visit gyms and restaurants on Fitness street. Hotel was clean and had basic amenities. Very chilled vibe in the hotel which was nice after a busy day going to classes, gym sessions etc. Close to shops to get basic needs and pool is decent. Would stay again when next visiting.

How can I put it, the price is cheap, it is surrounded by a Muay Thai training base, 711 and tops, it is also convenient, and the environment is quiet. Maybe there was some communication problem with the platform. I paid in advance and they asked me to pay when it arrived. . . Thai aunts don’t really understand either, but they are quite polite. There is no toothbrush or toothpaste in the room, but shower gel and shampoo. There was no housekeeping, and it was only on the third day that my aunt remembered to clean for me. . .
Happy Cottage

We had a good stay at Happy Cottage which unfortunately ended on a bad note when one of our party was accused of misplacing a face towel and charged the equivalent of $10.00 Aud (200 baht) as a result. I'll tell you about this particular incident and then a more formal review of the place will follow afterwards. Upon checking in (we travelled as couples, so 2 adults per cottage) Happy Cottage gives you: * 2 white bath towels; * 2 blue pool towels; and * 2 small white face towels/washers. These are generally replaced every day if you wish by house keeping, but they will only replace it, if it's there to replace, or replace 'like for like'. For example, my husband and I took our blue pool towels with us to training one day. Upon our return, house keeping had changed our white towels, but did not leave additional blue pool towels as they weren't physically there to be replaced when housekeeping attended to our room. On day two, our friend noticed that housekeeping appeared to have replaced 1 white face towel, and the other one was missing. They assumed that housekeeping had maybe taken it, but didn't think anything of it because they had brought their own face towels on the trip and didn't need it. It was only upon check out on day 5 that reception 'checked their room' and said the missing face towel would cost them 200 baht. My friend explained it had gone missing on day 2, and since then, had never been replaced by housekeeping. Reception insisted that was impossible, as the face towel would have been provided with them on day 1. It is virtually impossible to prove that our friend had not taken/lost the face towel (which I can assure you would not cost anything close to 200 baht to replace) and had no choice but to pay. I don't know if anything like this has happened to any body else but it's enough for me to consider staying somewhere else when we next return to Chalong. LOCATION Generally speaking however, the location of Happy Cottage is a real gem, being walking distance to all the great eating places you have heard about on Fitness street, as well as being centrally located to the popular 'cross training' gyms such as Tiger, Titan, Unit 27 as well as a plethora of the smaller muay tuay gyms. ACCOMMODATION/LIVING Cottages are great value for what you get - clean and spacious but minimalist . The cottages have their own living rooms with TV and fridge but you need to be aware that it's very basic. There are no fancy amenities - the only thing you get is some shampoo, conditioner, bars of soap and an umbrella. Anything outside of that you'll need to do without! House keeping do a good job of looking after the rooms. On that note, you MUST hang the sign on the door BEFORE 2PM if you want your place made up. If you hang it up after 2pm, or don't hang it up at all - it simply won't be done! POOL/LAUNDRY Nice and clean, simple pool. There is also a washing machine and dryer on site. I think you get charged

It's my second time staying here. The hotel is new, clean and look modern. It has two buildings, both are comfortable and well maintained. Their rooftops are superb. The rooftop of the first building is like a green field to enjoy amazing view including sunrise and sunset while the other, a swimming pool is located which makes me feel like swimming in the air. The room is spacious and furnished with amenities I need including safe to store valuables. Its door is sound proof. The staff made me feel so welcome with their good service-mind and helpful.
