Let's start with the positives: 1. The front desk staff, cleaning ladies, and restaurant staff were all very nice. It really felt like the excellent service made up for the outdated facilities. 2. The breakfast was good, with a decent variety that suited Chinese tastes. Before sitting down, you could even choose tea or coffee which would then be brought to your table. 3. The location was quiet but central, close to restaurants and massage places. 4. There was a very mini balcony where you could hang clothes to dry. Everything else was a negative: 1. The facilities were terrible! For 2350/night during Chinese New Year, it was absolutely not worth it. It was very run-down, with amenities comparable to a 200-300 RMB Hanting Hotel in China, and an old one at that. The shower head had weak water pressure, and if you turned on the overhead shower, it would leak; the sink's glass panel was loose, the magnifying mirror was dirty and nearly falling off; the hairdryer was like those from hotels in the 90s; the sofa had numerous stains; the bedding was worn out and felt very damp to sleep on! The hangers were old and broken! 2. There were quite a few flies in the breakfast restaurant. 3. The public swimming pool was tiny! If possible, I'd recommend booking a room with direct pool access instead. 4. It took over 10 minutes to walk to Patong Beach and Jungceylon Shopping Center.

The hotel is pretty good. They even offered drinks during check-in, which were sweet and tangy. The staff were also very friendly. I'll definitely stay here again next time. It's quiet and safe, despite being in a bustling area.

It was just okay. I told the front desk I didn't want a room at the end of the corridor, but they still gave me one in a corner of one of the buildings, with a view as shown in the picture. Maybe it was because I arrived at midnight, and there was only one staff member helping a Western guest with their luggage while showing them the way, completely ignoring our bags. I had prepared a lot of tips beforehand, but I decided not to give any since we didn't receive service. The restaurant staff, however, were very friendly. The room was also quite small. The location in Patong is decent, convenient for going to the beach. I stayed in Karon afterwards, and I think I'll stick to Karon or Kata in the future.

Cleanliness: Absolutely terrible. The very first night I checked in, the sheets and duvet cover were covered in stains (yellow, black, and short hairs). The fabric sofa and mirror in the room also had stains. It really put a damper on my stay. After strongly expressing my dissatisfaction to the front desk, they agreed to change my room. However, the new room was a corner room, and the minibar mirror and sofa still had stubborn stains. I was too tired to argue further, so I gave up. Also, the way the front desk assigned rooms felt discriminatory towards Chinese guests, with all the rooms having poor orientations. Ambiance: The hotel is in the Patong Beach area. Objectively speaking, apart from the lobby and restaurant, there's not much of an environment to speak of. Service: If there was one highlight of the hotel, it would be the wide variety of breakfast options and the kind, attentive staff at the breakfast restaurant. Summary: I would not stay here again. The hygiene standards simply don't match its star rating; it's on par with a budget chain hotel in China. It certainly doesn't justify the high premium charged for New Year's!

The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. It's about a 10-minute walk to Jungceylon Shopping Center, and the nearest 7-Eleven is only about 5 minutes away. Patong Beach is also roughly 10 minutes away. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but very clean. The pool isn't huge, but it's perfectly adequate. The hotel staff are really friendly, always smiling from arrival to departure, and they provide very attentive service. Oh, and I thought the hotel breakfast was fantastic; you can fill up in the morning and skip lunch. I definitely recommend getting breakfast. Overall, I'm very satisfied—a great choice!

Reason for rating of 3 for cleanliness is for the rooms being very damp, the floor was wet and slippery to walk on, until we requested for a dehumidifier and new pair of slippers to be brought in. So first impression is not good as the hotel obviously know the problem and didn’t bother to resolve it before guests check in. Need to improve on this .

This is the worst hotel in the Mercure system i have ever stayed. The hotel facility maintainance and the cleaning room service need more serious attention. We had issue of the toilet sprayer leaking and there were dirty underwear of previous customer in the cabinet under the sink.

Extremely disappointed. Nobody helped with our luggage, and there was absolutely no warmth or hospitality. The most unacceptable thing was how incredibly damp the room was – the sheets and duvet weren't changed for days. Housekeeping was clearly a rush job, and the room itself felt old. After a few days, I broke out in a rash from the dampness. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

Hotel location was great, walking distance to beach and mall. Breakfast buffet spread was good love the fresh fruit juice station, had a room changed due to mouldy smell, the front desk was prompt to arrange another room which dehumidifier in the room.
