Hotel Baya Phuket Reviews

I booked a room at Baya hotel for 5 nights based on the pictures they provided on Trip.com. But as soon as I checked in and saw the room I was horrified. The pictures of the hotel advertised were absolutely misleading, representing the place better than it actually is. The room that was given to me was in a very poor state, everything was dirty and damaged, with the bathroom being completely different (worse) to the pictures advertised on Trip.com. The window in the room was very dirty, was not closing properly and the single curtain was almost transparent which would have been impossible to sleep given the streetlights are always on. All furniture in the room was damaged, there were stains everywhere on the walls, on the furniture and all over the room, it was very dirty and looked nothing like the pictures advertised on Trip.com. The walls were patched and even the single decoration of the wall clock was broken. The bathroom looked completely different to what was shown online, it had rusty shelf, leaky hose, the sink looked like it was not washed for a very long time and the tap was so short that was not possible to wash hands. The shower room was dirty with patches of mould and water leak. The worst part, is that the room smelled horribly with petroleum which I am assuming the smell was coming from the air conditioner, which was also so old and loud that would be impossible to sleep with this being on despite on outside was +29c. I was not able to stay there and raised it with Trip.com but they refused to do anything about it. The receptionist was so rude, she said I will not canceled the room because I can’t sell it to anyone else. I then booked another room elsewhere and left. Failed the complaint with the bank and cancelled the transaction.

Almost everything is good except the receptionist, a young girl who doesn't care about customers, uses impolite language, is rude, has no manners, yells, has a negative attitude, and discriminates against customers. Having staff like this will make the hotel lose in a negative way.

Good for the price

Hotel in a good position in south of patong. 10 Minutes walking from shopping center and walking street. Clean room, friendly service staff.

Nice little hotel to stay at. Staff are really good english too. Very helpful. And have a really good attitude towards customers.

Basic hotel for 2-3 days , clean , everything is adequate

Not recommended:( the location is fine, but the hotel is very old and smelly. There are dirty toilet seats :( smells very very bad The pool was okay 👌🏻

Nice hotel

It was good hotel and 1km from the patong beach and nearby have malina market you could find any kind of food.

The location is okay. 10 minutes down the street and you are at the beach. There is a pool on the roof but nobody takes care about that pool. And the worst was the smell. This terrible smell all over the room that comes from the bathroom. OMG. Nothing helped to kill that smell. Another thing there is only one old plastic chair to sit at the balcony. So after all the experience is so-so. I won't come back definitely
