Racha Island Resort (Rayaburi)

Racha Island Phuket|0.89km from Kon Kare Bay
Just spent 4 days here it is a Beautiful island, however disappointing the amount of daily boat trips that arrive. Flooding the beaches and the guides walk round blowing whistles to round there groups up! When your a hotel guest and trying to relax pretty impossible. Lack of sun beds only 12 sun beds with cushions, the rest are plastic and when I tried to lie on one in the sun was told it’s 100 baht! Not what u expect when are staying on the island. It’s also 20 baht every time you need the toilet, not acceptable for hotel guests either. The food in the restaurant is good food, not enough waiting staff tho, u have to constantly get up and ask for everything very slow service for drinks and orders to be taken. Plastic in the corners of the beach, no one seems to care or even attempt to clear it away, it’s just hidden round the corner out of sight out of mind. When leaving the island we booked the 3pm direct boat bk to the pier, conveniently this boat was broken. So u have to join the snorkelling trip and go via coral island. This island could be so much better than it is!!! The room we had was clean and big! The decor is really odd! Feels like an old English mannor house, not very Thai! Really needs updating. Doesn’t warrant a 4 star rating! I’d give it a 3! Evenings the restaurant last orders are 7,30 and it closes at 8, no other option for a bar either. There is a shop where u can buy the usual. The pool was grotty, with stagnant pond water round the outside, so many mosquitoes recommend u take a can of bug spray for your room.

I stayed in a deluxe room in Ban Leia for 5 days as a solo tourist and I came here to experience the diving trip. I really enjoyed the time I stayed here: yes, the room was a bit old but very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. I feel that my room is really lucky in such a location, number 20, where you can see the beautiful sea view and is surrounded by tropical plants. This resort covers a large area and contains two bays. A legendary shallow area, yes, there are diving boats for a few hours a day. The garden is beautifully maintained and I love the oversized pool. The food was just fantastic, try the prawn salad that was placed in half a pineapple Raya. Breakfast can be delivered anywhere and lunch at the pool or on the beach is so charming. Diving with diver Raya was a great experience, Raya was fun, extremely patient and kind. Also enjoyed exploring the island and riding. All in all, I highly recommend this lovely resort.

If you have been to Madai, don’t book this hotel. The beach is not big, the rooms are quite satisfactory, the surrounding environment is relatively primitive, lizards of all sizes can be seen everywhere, cats also come to join in the fun when eating, and mosquitoes swarm you. I saved myself by bringing mosquito repellent. The surrounding area of the hotel is really poor. I ordered a breakfast and dinner. I was told that there is a limited amount for dinner, 1100 baht per person. It’s a loss. Don’t miss it. Don’t book this package, just include breakfast; book the hotel’s sea snorkeling, 1,500 baht per person, and an additional service fee and tax of 17%. The key point is that you don’t see anything. People who often go to sea will be very disappointed. , the only interesting thing is the infinity pool. In short, Phuket is only suitable for people who are going to play in the sea for the first time.

We upgraded to the newer, air-conditioned cottages, which are clean, modern, and comfortable. The original bungalows are sweet, but we needed a break from the heat! The resort is beautifully treed, surrounded by well-kept grounds, set high in the canopy. It's well-run by friendly and helpful staff; Manager Grace has been incredibly helpful in providing information and arranging transport for our day trips and evenings out. The nearest beach, Yanui, is easily walkable but quite busy, particularly on the weekend. The town of Yanui provides restaurants, laundry, scooter rental, and other services. In the other direction, it's a short uphill walk to Phromtep Cape, with its spectacular views and and cultural import. Near the Cape you will find Summore Day Cafe, a modern restaurant with air-conditioned indoor area and massive decks for watching the sunset. The Cafe is surrounded by beautiful Japanese-inspired gardens, which can be explored at leisure. The fusion menu is limited, but the food is excellent! Nai Harn beach (our favourite so far in Phuket), with restaurants and other services steps away, is a short (200THB) taxi or tuktuk ride away. Rawai is just a 20 minute walk away (30 minutes to the seafood market). From Rawai, tours and boat trips to nearby islands are easily accessible.

A great location for this area, loved our pool access room and hubby and I loved the massive bed. The resort staff are really friendly, and we used the free drop offs on offer with the resort to local locations. Only negative during or stay was the younger drunken generation that thought it fun to be spitting, from balcony above our room, into the pool one night. No manners at all. Highly recommend this place as they have really great service and nice and quiet most nights. Easy place to walk into Rawai for local nightlife or to the seafood markets or you can catch a Grab to surrounding beaches/markets etc. We will be back here again for sure.

The location is really nice, very close to the beach and a bunch of cafes. Clean, spacious room. There were some issues with the water upon checking in, but they've been resolved quickly. My overall stay there has been great. A couple of drawbacks: the aircon seems too powerful for the size of the room and it's not really possible to direct it away from the bed. The water pressure is unstable - going from very strong to weak repeatedly, which in turn makes the shower temperature unstable too.
