Golden Horse Hotel

Very well situated hotel. Room was clean with all regular complimentary amenities. Unfortunately breakfast left a lot to be desired. Went in an hour before service was scheduled to end and food was all dry. Looked like it had been overcooked and then left out for a long time before being reheated. Apart from that, the hotel itself was great. Definitely worth recommending, though I would suggest grabbing your breakfast elsewhere.

I travel on business weekly and always look for a Southern Sun Hotel before any other, I stay at Southern Suns across the country and I must say this is the worst one I have ever encountered. From requesting an iron and ironing board and no one pitching, to calling reception and the phone ringing forever without answer, to the shocking food served at breakfast (probably yesterday's lunch leftovers), to being sent a broken iron and being told there is no other iron so I had to iron with a leaking iron which made my suit and shirt wet. There were so many awful experiences at this Southern Sun, and inexplicably it is more expensive than one of the best Southern Suns in the country (Southern Sun Waterfront - Cape Town). I will definitely not be back. In fact I'm considering cancelling my rewards card and joining Protea card and taking my business there. Unfortunately I had already booked and paid for 5 nights at this Southern Sun, it was an awful experience. I have taken time before completing this survey because I wanted to be as objective as possible but there is no running away from some sad truths. You have a very long way to go as a hotel Southern Sun PMB.
