Alpen Way Chalet Mountain Lodge

While not fancy in any way, this lodge was relaxing and comfortable with great attention to detail. The grounds are phenomenal with fire pit, hot tub, chickens and very well landscaped pathways. We saw Elk wandering through both days we were there, which was a bonus. If you are not pretentious, you will love this place!

I had this trip planned for MONTHS I've spoken to Lisa about my reservation to make sure everything was okay. She went over some details with me back in July. A week before my trip, they cancelled my reservation becasue they couldn't get in touch with me right away. When I spoke to them, Tom's answer was "Not my problem" i begged him and the same answer "not my problem" my advice, don't be Tom & Lisa's problem and get a hotel that understands hospitality

We stayed here to attend a concert at Red Rocks. It was a cozy, well appointed, clean cabin like room. We had coffee and all the fixings in the room (always a plus!) with lovely bathroom amenities. We were offered blankets for the concert which we should have taken them up on because we froze! (our fault!) Grounds are gorgeous with a stream running through it and chickens that had the most fun names! We didn't use the jacuzzi, but nice to know for next time. Lisa was lovely. Can't wait to go back.

We were in the area for a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater and decided to find something local, family owned instead of a hotel in the city. What a wonderful place to stay! The drive to the venue is a short, scenic and beautiful drive. The owner was so welcoming and gave us great tips for local farm to table eateries... the rooms were clean and cozy and felt like coming home and the property is beautiful and convenient. I would highly recommend this property for a nice quiet retreat!

Super duper best bed EVER. Perhaps it was the subzero temps outside or the subzero drafts coming in the door. Either way, our cabins (Daisy, Bountiful,Carefree and the honeymoon suite) allowed us to have private spaces and meet together too. Specific to Daisy: The bed was better than a Marriott timeshare we had just come from. The toilet area seemed recently remodeled… keep it going with freshening up the shower grout : ) The living room furniture was comfortable and clean. The kitchen included all we needed, including a dishwasher. When the snow came , the property was plowed and shoveled promptly in the morning. We didn’t enjoy any outdoor amenities due to the cold. We appreciate the host’s policies to maintain a clean hot tub. Thank you for a great experience at your historic property.

Our stay started out fine. But the owner lady is a 4 letter C word. She was very agitated in every interaction. Many rules, and NOT kid friendly. With them living in one of the units, we where hassled and bitched at about people droping other wedding party people off. Even though this took place before quiet time. It really put a damper on that evening. After getting the second degree, we choose not to hang out around the fire pit, even though we had over an hour per their rules. With them living on the grounds, i would expect better maintenance. They are very poor in maintaining the hot tub and ensuring other amenities are stock/ fueled up etc. Lastly, if you are a taller individual, you might be hitting your head. Very low ceilings. This place would be a better adult getaway stay, but it is not good for people with kids or major celebrations. Even renting all the rooms buys you no grace. This lady needs to treat tenants better. As a person who owns airbnb beach units, these people should have a poor overall rating.
