Light Haus Inn

Staying in a guesthouse around Hongchaikeng is a different experience compared to Kenting Main Street. To each their own, but if you don't like hustle and bustle, this place is great. The Glimpse Inn has a friendly front desk manager who sends relevant information before check-in. Once you're inside the hotel, you're greeted with a coastal view that has a charming fishing village vibe. It's the perfect spot if you just want to zone out and watch the sea. The only minor downsides were the constant crowing of roosters outside and the noticeable noise from our room's air conditioner. I've always felt there are two things photos struggle to capture: sound and smell. These are often things you only piece together from traveler reviews. But it's clear the hotel is thoughtful; reviews mention that earplugs are available at the front desk if needed. Some services aren't always used, but the mere willingness to provide them shows a lot of care. Besides sound and smell, another thing I prioritize when traveling is the size and comfort of the bed. The bed at Glimpse Inn was very supportive and comfortable. However, something bothered me during my stay: the TV turned itself on three times. Since the room had plenty of natural light and no uncomfortable atmosphere, I wasn't sure why. Later, I messaged them on Line and apparently, the TV can sometimes turn on automatically when the room card is inserted or when the air conditioning is turned on. I ended up unplugging it. My conclusion is that I hope all hotels will start offering rooms without TVs in the future. As someone who rarely watches TV, my reliance on it has diminished. The sea here is beautiful, the chickens are a bit noisy, the room is clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the manager is enthusiastic. As for the rest of the experience, I'll leave it to fate. Sometimes, small incidents during a trip can really affect the overall impression.

For my first road trip, Kenting was the charming place where I stayed for two consecutive nights during my Taiwan trip. The hostess was incredibly warm and thoughtful, meticulously introducing local delicacies, beautiful sights, and even her personal favorite secluded beach. There was no anxiety about language barriers, allowing me to wander and explore freely. If my visa permits, I will definitely come back again!

A close inspection revealed absolutely no dust in the small areas; the cleaning was meticulous! The soundproofing was good, and the space was large enough for a family to gather in the living room as well as separate sleeping areas! The ocean view is truly expansive, but unfortunately it was cloudy that day; otherwise, we could have seen the blue sky and the vast ocean! It's a 10-minute walk from Kenting Main Street, which I think is a good way to avoid the noise. Definitely worth a second stay.

The room is as pictured. I really liked the spacious feel of the duplex, and the sea view was beautiful! The only slight drawback was that the room door was a bit stiff to open and close (it was sticky). Also, there are chickens near the guesthouse, and they start crowing at 3:30 AM... light sleepers should bring earplugs.

The housekeeper's professionalism and warmth are what make guests feel more positive and appreciative of the guesthouse (they'll definitely visit again!).

You can watch the sea and sunset right from the guesthouse. The guesthouse is full of energy and is perfect for a stay. I wish I could visit again.

Disadvantages: The location is a bit remote, with no shops nearby, making it inconvenient to find food. Advantages: Spacious rooms, clean environment, friendly service.

The proprietress was very friendly and also recommended some great local dishes.
