MEET SECRET B&B

The breakfast was delicious, with the option to take away or dine in, which was very flexible! The staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, the pillow was too high for me, making it uncomfortable to sleep.

The hotel is located near Donggang Transfer Station. The roadside facade combines two buildings: the restaurant on the left on the first floor, and the high-ceilinged lobby and front desk on the right. There are a few parking spots for cars in front, and motorcycles can park behind in a metal shed (employee parking lot). The host was enthusiastic, thoughtful, and attentive. I was very satisfied with my single dorm room this time (after discount, it was less than 550 NTD). Breakfast is an extra 100 NTD (cheap) and needs to be booked separately at the front desk (you can slightly adjust the dining time when confirming). As shown in the picture, the rooms are on the second floor via stairs, with four single rooms in total. The shower and toilet are very tiny (the only downside is no wall-mounted shelf or elevated counter). There are no rinse cups, so you need to bring your own. The common area has four sofas, a fan, and an air purifier. There are four storage lockers and a bookshelf on the wall. The room itself is simple and practical (the only two drawbacks are a small gap on the side and the bedside power outlet switch being near the head of the bed). A large towel is provided! After 9 PM, entry and exit are through the back door of the restaurant.

I saw the hotel's promotional pictures and thought the room would be beautiful, but when I actually checked in... it was quite different from what I imagined! Honestly, I travel to mainland China often, and for the same price, the room types vary greatly. No wonder Taiwan's tourism isn't thriving.

The location is fantastic, just a five-minute walk from the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, and there's a beautiful beach right behind the property. However, I have to be honest, it's incredibly inconvenient without a car as public bus service is very infrequent. Plus, there are absolutely no shops nearby, only one hot pot restaurant specializing in lamb, which, despite good Google reviews and a recommendation from the guesthouse owner, I found to be overpriced for what it offered. I'd highly recommend bringing instant noodles or plenty of your own food supplies. Delivery services are also very limited. Unless you absolutely love ocean views and crave complete isolation, one stay here is probably enough. Getting to any other attractions besides the aquarium is a real hassle. Perhaps because of its remote location and lower occupancy, the room had a strange odor. I'd suggest they use some air fresheners. On the positive side, the guesthouse owner was incredibly welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and she even gave us a ride to the aquarium (even though it's only a five-minute walk!). Overall, it was a decent experience.

Reasonably priced.

It's super convenient to check in on a Wednesday or Saturday because of the nearby night market.
