Yijingxuan boutique lnn

We came to Pingyao only for one night, but this family was absolutely adorable and really helped us with everything. They helped us with the luggage, we also took there a photoshoot and they took care of our little son (2 years old). They are kind, thoughtful and sensible and we really enjoyed our stay feeling like home. The place is awesome and breathtaking. You will really feel that you are in another age. It's peaceful though in the middle of everything.

This hotel is so beautiful! The decoration are so ornate and it looks even better at night when it’s lit up. The rooms were like going back in time so it felt very special and fitting for staying in the ancient city. The location is in middle of the city so it was perfect. They gave us discounts for some restaurants and you can get the traditional dress for free. The place was excellent value and we would recommend it to anyone!

It was a wonderful stay! :) The owners are a lovely family—very kind, helpful, and always happy to give advice and recommendations. The courtyard is magical, and the room was clean and free of any cigarette smell. The room had soap, shampoo, a hairdryer, a kettle, air conditioning, towels, slippers, and even earplugs (which are actually very useful, because many Chinese tourists don't seem to believe in gently closing doors with the handle—they slam them as if a war had just broken out). Sleeping in such a beautifully traditional setting was an experience in itself. I would have happily stayed longer. A note for European travelers: remember that this is a small hotel by Chinese standards. Don't be disappointed if the lanterns are made of plastic or if some of the decorations in the courtyard are a little dusty. None of that takes away from the charm of the place. I highly recommend staying here for at least two nights.
