Pingyao Hotel

The location is excellent, right in the city center and adjacent to the Confucius Temple. You can even walk through the Confucius Temple to get to breakfast, offering a convenient sightseeing opportunity. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful, and the *kang* (heated bed) in the room was impressively large. Although some online reviews mentioned the bathroom shower wasn't very convenient, we found it perfectly acceptable. What truly impressed us was the complimentary train station pick-up and drop-off service – it was incredibly convenient and comfortable. They even gave us a small parting gift. A minor point: my phone battery drains quickly, and I found the charging outlet was a bit far from the *kang* at night. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I noticed the hotel also offers a shuttle service to the ancient city. This time I walked, but my stamina isn't what it used to be; over three hours of walking was quite exhausting for me. For those with less stamina, I'd highly recommend taking an electric cart tour around the ancient city.

It's my second time visiting Pingyao Ancient City. While it has seen some changes, it's still as captivating as ever. Early mornings are blissfully quiet, perfect for a peaceful walk. In the evening, head to the South Gate for the light show, though it does get very busy. It's a fantastic place to admire the ancient architecture, enjoy delicious food, and get a real feel for the city's history, imagining the bustling footsteps of merchants from bygone eras.

The guesthouse boasts an excellent location, very close to major attractions, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The building itself has a rich history and a photogenic aesthetic, perfect for capturing memories. Although Pingyao Ancient City is quite a distance from Pingyao Ancient City High-speed Rail Station, the guesthouse offers a convenient shuttle service, which is a great bonus.

Overall, I had a very positive experience. The location is excellent, right within the ancient city. We parked our car nearby, and after entering through the East Gate, the hotel was right there. The decor upon entering was particularly stunning, with large red lanterns hanging high. However, I wasn't quite accustomed to the traditional 'kang' bed in the room, and the bathroom was a bit too small for comfort. Despite these minor points, the overall stay was great!
