Pingyao Hanqing Elegant Courtyard (Pingyao Ancient City Scenic Area Branch)

My stay there was amazing! The room was spacious and clean, and the location is decent too. It feels very authentic, giving you an immersive experience of staying in an ancient Chinese house and sleeping on a kang. The owner provided a welcome kit with some sweets and snacks, which was a very cute touch. They also provide a transfer service from the Wall Gate, which is extremely convenient. When it started raining, the owner even asked if I needed help with transportation, since cars are not allowed in the Old City, which shows their great attitude towards the guests. Definitely recommended!

I was supposed to get a ride to my stay (from the train station), i contacted the courtyard and the guy told me to take a didi and he will cover the fare, i told him it is okay i will pay didi as long as he comes fetching us (since we have 2 large suitcases). He did the day we arrived. Later the night before the check out, i asked him about the ride back to the train station for the next morning, he apologized and said he can only take us to the north gate with our luggage and we agreed on 8 :00 on the morning since our train is leaving at 9h29 (which was already very disappointing).On the morning of the check out i contacted him through wechat at 7h52 telling him we are ready but no response, i sent a second message at 8h02 telling him we need to go. By that time i started to panic because me and my teenage child had 2 big heavy suitcases to manage and i chose this courtyard in the first place only because they provide this service of giving you a ride. By the time of 8h09 or 8h10 we left the courtyard on our feet carrying the heavy suitcases by ourselves. Thank god we found a taxi at the gate right away. Otherwise we would have missed our train. To be honest i was and still so frustrated : why would you lie and mislead guests and tell them you provide a certain service when you are not ? I would not stay at this place again and i would not recommend. Ps: Meanwhile when we have already departed the guy sent a few msgs telling us he just woke up and he is looking for us. I have nothing against the guy: he was nice and polite but im feeling wronged since i was relying on that service and i was let down.

Very good service, the rooms are clean and the hotel courtyard is beautiful
