Piccolo Grand Hotel ★★★★

📍 Via L.Chiaravalloti, 32, Pizzo

"Absolutely beautiful hotel, centrally located in Pizzo. The views of the see and village are gorgeous. The hotel is clean, modern and very comfortable. We had a suite with a private terrace overlooking the sea. This is by far the nicest non-chain, non-brand hotel I have ever stayed in. It is a luxury boutique hotel. The staff were very hospitable."

Tui Magic Life Calabria - All Inclusive

Tui Magic Life Calabria - All Inclusive ★★★★

📍 Contrada Difesa I, Pizzo

"Spent ten days there from 13th June, the food and staff where ok, resort was tidy, main issue we had was that when we booked in we where massively overcharged when paying the tourist tax, the receptionist was having issues trying to work out the price and after 5 minutes she said it was £209 euros for 3 adults and a five year old for 10 days, they actually charged us 2049.14 euros, which is about £1862.46, 2 days before we left the hotel messaged us asking for us to go to reception as there had been an overpayment, they would say how much but wanted bank details for a refund, we had issues finding the banks IBAN number but eventually found it, upon returning home and checking the actual amount taken we have been in contact with TUI 3-4 times and they have been utterly useless in resolving this, the hotel said a refund was issued on the 21st June yet after talking to TUI on the 4th or 5th July they said the hotel was issuing the refund now and could still take up to 15 days, This has left us without any money until we got paid again at the end of the month, TUI seem to think its ok to just apologise and close the complaint even though there's been no refund, we've asked them for statements from the hotel but we haven't been sent any as yet, they won't even consider any form of compensation, they do not care and just fob you off,"

📍 Località Cutà, Pizzo

"My experience at the Popilia Country Resort was quite satisfactory. The facility is beautiful, the staff very friendly (special thanks to Giuseppe at the front desk, who resolved a problem quickly). We enjoyed the spa, which allowed us to spend two pleasant and completely relaxing hours. I would happily return. I highly recommend it."

Residence Pietre Bianche ApartHotel ★★★

📍 Via Prov.le per, SS522, Pizzo

"My husband and I stayed at the Pietre Bianche Residence from the end of August to the first week of September, we had a great time, a splendid place, clean rooms, swimming pool and beach equipped with gazebos and umbrellas. Managed by Francesco, a young boy, who welcomed us and was able to satisfy all our needs with kindness, patience and professionalism. We had full board and at the restaurant by Giuseppe and Eleonora, we ate very well. We thank all the staff at the Residence, for having pampered us during our stay, with the promise of being able to see each other again next year. Simonetta and Angelo"

Villa Primaluce

Villa Primaluce ★★★

📍 Via Riviera Prangi, snc Località Marinella, Pizzo

"It’s newly renovated and looks brand new. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The hosts Pino and Christina are very friendly and helpful. It is secluded, which we like, but very close to a quaint little town, Pizzo. We booked for a night’s layover on our way from Palermo to Bari. Had we known it was that nice we would have booked longer."

B&B Puerto Seguro ★★★

📍 VII deviazione, Via Riviera Prangi, 89812 Loc, Pizzo

"A beautiful B&B with very friendly staff. The sea is about 300 m away. Breakfast is slightly, but ok. Rooms good, was completely cleaned every 2 days by a wonderful and very friendly lady. A car is needed if you want to explore the environment. Recommended."

"I returned after almost 15 days, because I had been there for my birthday and I had a great time and was satisfied with everything... A spectacular and perfect weekend in everything, together with my husband we were pampered and spoiled by all the staff... from the director to Chiara to the chef Andrea who delighted us with his spectacular and refined menus but a special thank you goes to the great manager of AnnaMaria room, wonderful and perfect in every way, great expert in knowing our particular tastes and needs, takes great care of the room down to the smallest details and with great elegance of behavior welcomed us at the entrance to the restaurant with a smile and a lot of courtesy, forgetting us up to the table and elegantly and professionally advising us on the gastronomic proposals... Ditto for breakfast and dinner.. I will be back hopefully very soon."

Tui Magic Life Calabria - All Inclusive ★★★★
"My 8 year old daughter was left unsupervised in the kids club and sent in activities alone in the resort. She was allowed to walk around the resort without supervision on a scavenger hunt without any adult knowing her location for 2 hours! She walked to the beach through woods some 30 - 40 mins there and back where she got lost, where she was followed by an unknown male then back to her hotel room. She is upset and now scared to sleep at night. When the complaint was raised that the children were missing at 5pm by another parent. 3 staff members did not know who the missing kids were or where they were. At this point I still did not get a phone call saying my child was missing. The staff are young and clueless as to who was in their care. I hate to think of what could have happened in light of other horrific incidents abroad to children. I complained to the kids club staff that said children are allowed “to leave whenever they wanted to” (signed waiver) but I expected this to be a phone call to the parent to come collect them on discharge not just let them go. A register was NOT taken in group. I was told they check the club house before closing to make sure no children are left. This closes at 9pm. This is an accident waiting to happen. We are very lucky as I say that nothing more serious happened. The resort is on a main road. The beach has members of the public on it. I believe they had no clue who my daughter was, where she was or if she was safe. I asked to sign her in and they said they would do a register in group. This is not being taken seriously enough to say they are young children in the care of TUI staff. I do not feel adequate training or care was taken or is still happening. I phoned the reps at around 6pm the time my daughter arrived back alone, and I was heading out to collect her. The reps would not call me back as it took until 6:04pm for reception to phone them and respond. They said they were closed at 6pm and again didn’t seem to care this was a serious failing of staff and safeguarding issues of children in their care or their resort. The schedule did not state scavenger hunt for Friday. I did not expect my child to leave alone or be totally unsupervised at any point during their care. We are now back home and phoned TUI everyday to ensure this doesn’t happen to another child. No response as of yet. Complaint logged"

"The pillows were flat and only got one (asked for pillows and said no) , bed was like a rock, air conditioning did not work, dead flys in the swimming pool and crane flies all swarming around the pool, shower temperature changing on its own, only cleaned your room once a week, never cleans your rubbish, swept our room and left a heap in the middle of the floor apart from that it was the best in the world"

"Excellent price quality. Simply rooms but with all the essentials. Attached to the sea, the bar below is excellent and very famous at pizza. There is really good turtle. Free parking. The owners know them well and are really wonderful people. Near the pitch center in only 5 minutes in car. I will certainly return for a few days stay."

Galìa Luxury Resort ★★★★★
"The structure is very intimate and cared for both in the external environments and in the common areas. Rooms in bungalows, clean and tidy. Equipped with a courtesy kit which also includes a bathrobe. The air conditioning compressor positioned right above the entrance door is a little noisy. Comfortable mattress. Comfortable restaurant room, slightly repetitive menu but good and well-prepared food (fish-based dishes are better). Prices for the bar and extras are incomprehensibly high. Particularly courteous and efficient staff. The swimming pool is well maintained but perhaps those who use it, especially the parents of children, should remember that the hotel is also frequented by other customers. If they don't understand it, management should intervene. Negative point is the location: a couple of km from Pizzo, but reachable only by car. The beach in front (a few tens of metres) is indecent, more like a landfill (obviously not the hotel's responsibility), with considerable crowding of people and vehicles especially during weekends. Perhaps creating a hedge (of oleanders) could mitigate the visual impact and improve privacy."
