SBH Hotel Royal Mónica

The hotel has its own part of the beach and has very relaxing vibe. It’s outside the town centre but is only a quick taxi ride. The food was adequate and I would say was quite good seeing the hotel is only a 3 star. The rooms were large and spacious and very clean. All in all a great hotel for a relaxing holiday.

Air con does NOT work despite man coming to fix it , receptionist was aware it may not work , offered to change room but couldn’t guarantee it would work there either . Bar area by restaurant shuts too early , this could be a quiet chill area for adults who do not want to listen to the children’s entertainment & loud music . Great place for card games etc . Reception seem very stressed over air con and are bluntly honest it doesn’t work and made an attempt to move us two days after multiple visits . But we gave up as each time we went to ask when it would be it was a different day . They did give us another fan tho. Was fed up with the stress of it ! Seemed like multiple excuses ! Ok good points .. we loved the chefs and restaurant staff work so hard always polite and friendly , really enjoyed food selection and each day there was something new altho there was a lot of pork dishes . We found to be really clean and well organised and topped up . Pool bar staff were really hardworking but always cheery. Drinks were great esp the no. Alcohol mojito!!! Loved the fruit selection . We used the beach coves every day and found them a real treat as we had no children and preferred the peace and quiet down there , loads to see and no stress over beds . Thanks for letting us fill water bottles up to take with us . One suggestion would be please rake up the rubbish esp cigarette butts as it’s not nice for non smokers . Room basic and clean & quiet no complaints . We really enjoyed our stay and a shout out to the spa.. we had an incredible full body therapeutic massage 5*****! Going home relaxed No issues getting taxis either . Would stay again but plz sort amaircon !!!

Really friendly hotel. Staff are great. There when you need them. Some of the most stunning costal walks. Beautiful food. I went with no expectations but came away with the most amazing experiences. Cannot wait to visit again.

I must admit when I booked this holiday 3 weeks before we left I was sceptical due to the price and reviews. But I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised from what I found during our 1 week family stay. Firstly as soon as we arrived late the welcome was so friendly and we were given nice food despite the restaurant being closed. We found the food to be fabulous, usually during an all inclusive holiday we will eat out but not this stay we found the breakfast, lunch and dinner to be fabulous and so was the service in the restaurant they were all good but special mention to Larsson and Massimo for going out of there way to talk to us. At the bar during the day the service was excellent from Adrian. All 5 of the animation team were fantastic with the entertainment they put on in the daytime from beach volleyball, to darts to table tennis to french bowls they made sure everyone got involved who wanted to and even put on a special cocktail day The evening entertainment was great especially the karaoke and magic show. The quiz show was the only let down with everyone bar us googling the answers because nobody had a clue what the songs were so maybe that needs tweaking! The rooms were perfectly sized and comfortable for what we needed the only thing that could improve it would be a mini fridge. The location was great for walks with a supermarket and bars within 1k and more lively beaches and bars within 3k. We however loved the fabulous quiet beach at the hotel. We will be back soon hopefully in October

Have to comment on my massage I got from Gloria omg she was amazing one of the best I got highly recommend you book with her on ur arrival .hotel is beautiful and clean food really good .staff are very friendly and helpful s very relaxing holiday

This hotel is advertised as a 3 star hotel. It’s not saying it’s a 4 star when it should be a 3 - it’s being honest & saying it’s a 3 star so if you’re looking to have 4 or 5 star standards you will not get them staying in this hotel. I feel that some of the reviews on here are quite unfair because the areas people are moaning about are what you would expect from a 3 star hotel. I have just come back from a really enjoyable stay at the hotel for the last week of the summer holidays. The location is absolutely stunning. The hotel is right on a coastal path with perfect sea views. If you enjoy walking this is ideal for you. It’s around a 30 minute walk into the start of Playa Blanca. 50 minute walk to the main beach in Playa Blanca & 1 hour 10 minute walk to the stunning marina. If you don’t enjoy walking the bus stop is a 10 minute walk away at Faro Park & the run at quarter past the hour & quarter to the hour. You can order a taxi from reception but there’s usually around 20-30 minute wait. After reading the previous reviews I knew to ask for the air con controller from reception. We did this on arrival but unfortunately the air con in our room wasn’t working & no hurry to get it fixed. The room wasn’t too bad though - there’s a ceiling fan & we kept the curtains closed to keep the room cool. The rooms & the rest of the hotel are a bit tired & dated but very spacious & clean. Totally up to a 3 star standard. The staff & animation team were pleasant enough. They weren’t rude in anyway but also not falling over themselves to be overly nice which I feel I quite common anywhere you stay abroad now. The food is 3 star all inclusive food standard. Always something to eat but not the tastiest but to be expected for an all inclusive buffet. We have thoroughly enjoyed the holiday mainly because it’s such a stunning resort. Probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again now that we know the area as would prefer to go self catering to make the most of the lovely restaurants in the resort.
