We were 3 adults had 2 rooms, we were all inclusive and had daily access to the Spa. Positives for us - [ ] Check in was welcoming and fast . - [ ] Beds and pillows are very comfortable. - [ ] Great location, 5min walk to the ***** and beach . - [ ] We did not hear the ***** from within the hotel. - [ ] You have English Tv in your room channel,bbc1,2, itv , channel 4&5. - [ ] Spacious bedroom and bathroom - [ ] Shower is powerful and water hot. - [ ] Free shampoo and shower gel in the shower . - [ ] Lots of beds around the pool. - [ ] Tv in small bar area to watch the football . - [ ] Most Staff friendly and helpful. - [ ] Staff work hard and work long hours . - [ ] Many lifts around the hotel , they a quick and reliable. - [ ] Kettle, fridge and hair dryer in the room . - [ ] We were on floor 4 . Looking out onto the pool , Mountains and sea. Beautiful views. - [ ] Lots of coat hangers in the wardrobe. Plus lots of storage space. - [ ] Many mirrors around the room , on the wardrobe and in the bathroom. - [ ] Safe in the room, for us it was included in our staff. But not for everyone. - [ ] Pool area clean and spacious, we were not all sat very close to each other . - [ ] Spa pool water warm. - [ ] 2 sauna and 2 steam room . - [ ] Jacuzzi at the pool is great . - [ ] Night entertainment was good, worth a watch . - [ ] Activities were offered during the day like keep fit , archery, ping bong . - [ ] Wished us happy birthday at the pool which was great and gave us a bottle of champagne. - [ ] Left a birthday wishes and a bottle of champagne in our room . - [ ] Lots a seating area in the restaurant and was cool . - [ ] Rooms were cool and air conditioning was constantly on. - [ ] Enough plug sockets to charge your phone . Negatives for us - [ ] The pool water is freezing cold . Therefore hardly anyone went into the pool, adults, or children , despite it being so hot. Due to this we would not return to this hotel, as being able to get into the pool to cool off and to be able to complete some swimming is essential to our holiday . - [ ] Spa area old, floors dirty and many of the appliances and metal rusty . - [ ] Rooms, could be cleaner including the curtains, floors, and ceiling. - [ ] The bar member Victoria was rude, rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed . - [ ] Named brands of alcohol are not included in the all inclusive. You have to pay extra . - [ ] Not a huge choice of desserts, a few small cakes and ice cream . - [ ] We had often had eaten our meal b4 we were able to order drinks. A number of times we had to go and find the staff member to order them. - [ ] Restaurant ran out of cutlery daily especially knives. - [ ] You have to carry your room card around all the times . As this has to be used to order drinks or food. - [ ] Gym equipment old and rusty. - [ ] Gym seems to have no air conditioning. - [ ] You have to pay for bottled water . Some bar staff with give you a pint of water(out of the drinks machine ) i

We are currently staying at this hotel, noise is minimal from work being done. Loads of sun beds available throughout the day. The staff work very hard , they keep the hotel spotless. Food in the restaurant has been great every day. Perfect location next to bars and restaurants. Was my wife’s birthday and they sent up some champagne which was a really nice gesture. Would 100 % return to this hotel.

I spent 1 week with a good friend in this hotel, amenities were amazing, clean, good food, great position in the area. But the best part of the hotel was the entertainment, absolutely incredible bunch of people friendly fun and engaged. Special thanks to Katalin, Samira, David and in particular the amazing and so much fun Viki. Thank you to all the bar staff in the evenings for making our nights so fun, Arlette and Ruth great cocktails. the only negative was a guy in the restaurant asking for reviews, not what we would normally listen to, but the rest speaks for itself!

There was unexpected work that was being undertaken at the hotel on one of the pools out of the two that started on the 1st April. The noise of drilling was very loud! The music did drown it out at times. Despite this I can honestly say that myself and daughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! The food was okay and always something for everyone. The room was spotless clean. I booked the upgraded one with tea coffee etc. I didn’t use the spa even though I had access! Overall I had a great holiday and we would certainly revisit!

In general we enjoyed our stay at the Gala. Our room overlooked the pool and had sea views (superior room) and looked like the refurbished rooms in the publicity photos. It was spotlessly clean. The balcony is quite small with only 2 chairs (there were 3 of us). The beds were comfy enough. There were a couple of areas that appeared a bit tired- the laminate floor was coming up at the edges and the shower door was leaky. We thought the food selection and quality was good for all inclusive. The WiFi us a bit hit and miss and only available in certain areas (not in our room) . We lost signal to all English channels on the TV although someone did come and have a look quickly but couldn't fix it. The pool area was great until the drilling started which was really loud. Plenty of sunbeds. There was entertainment on every evening. There is a spa but we didn't go as we were in tenerife for the nice weather so didn't want to be inside. We would have gone to the spa if it were open on an evening. Overall, I would stay here again once the pool is fixed.

Average and would say it’s more a 3 star. We stayed here as a family of 8 adults, we arrived on late flight and we were not offered any food or refreshments as others have stated, we were advised about the fridge situation, basically you pay £25 for the mini bar drinks which therefore unlocks your fridge, they are getting round you paying for the fridge to be unlocked by saying it’s the mini bar, if you don’t pay for ‘the minibar’ your fridge stays locked, they said we couldn’t buy ‘the minibar’ until the next day? Anyway, when we got to our room the fridge had accidentally been left unlocked with no drinks in it, so we had use for the week for free. The safe is €25, we have never had to pay for a safe before and we stay 4 or 5 star, I think paying for a safe is disgraceful. We paid for room upgrade when we booked, however, our room was exactly the same as the rest of the family who hadn’t upgraded, the only difference was a robe, some crappy slippers and 2 coffee pods, we could also use the spa which we didn’t, so unless you want to use indoor spa save your money. The room was clean, the cleaner came each day, fresh towels but we never had bedding changed in the week, friendly cleaners and helpful. Aircon was rubbish and barely worked, we were room 513. Plenty of sun beds, people do reserve them but there are plenty, one pool is very deep and cool the other shallow and warm, both great and there is a life guard on duty. The 2 pools bars are great but you need to use your card and pay at the end of stay very reasonable prices, you can go to reception and just check what you owe as you go along. Bar staff and waiters, some friendly some look at you like something they have stepped in but didn’t bother us, their problem not ours! Reception staff are great. We had sea view and we were never woken up by any noise. You are right on the ***** so getting to the sea front and restaurants is like running a gauntlet of ************, we were offered *******, ******** and ‘sucky sucky’ every day, maybe avoid if easily offended. There is a back way which directs you to the beach use that to avoid these offers. Food is average, we were half board as was cheaper, Brekkie good choice, evening meal ok, we ate twice as there are some great restaurants elsewhere. Not far from beach at all, again maybe avoid with kids as there is a constant smell of ******** everywhere you go, not the best when trying to relax on the beach. There is a gym (probably why it got its 4 stars) which my Son used, he said getting to it is like being in the movie SAW but it’s ok once inside limited equipment but ok, more body building and aircon not good. We didn’t see any cockroaches in the hotel. We did enjoy our holiday and none of the negatives ruined it but we wouldn’t stay here again and just want to make people aware before booking, honest review!

The hotel is in general very good, the rooms are clean, the facilities are adequate, and it is in walking distance of all local amenities. The highlight for me were the excellent bar and restaurant staff, in particular Arlett, Yanels and Giovanni. They couldn't do enough for you, and were always smiling and happy. I have seen mixed reviews about the restaurant, and whilst the menu can be repetitive, the food is of decent quality, and I would say there is always something to suit all tastes. There is currently construction in the neighbouring Troya Hotel which was extremely noisy if I wanted to use the balcony. I asked to be moved, and the hotel management facilitated that without a problem. I would return here and enjoyed my time at this hotel. The only annoyance was the attitude of some of the guests towards the staff, some people you just can't please.

This work started on April the first and it is now 3 days in and we have four kango hammers running every morning ripping up the concrete so looks like it will take sometime to complete so please if you are planning a stay in the next few weeks check with the hotel as when confronted the best we got offered was an up grade form full board to all inclusive for the remaining 3 days of our holiday (about £20) as long as we signed to say that was the end of the matter!! We stayed here last year and really enjoyed the holiday and would have this time if not for the work that the hotel say is to fix a leak but this it obviously major scheduled in advance work owing to the scale!! The food is not very good especially breakfast this year which is disappointing. There is a shortage of sunbeds owing to the pool closure too, but las americas is as fun as always but you will be spending more time out of the hotel until this work is completed, so Please email the hotel to confirm the work has finished before setting out, jet 2 said before we left there was work on the balconies and some rooms prior to leaving so we checked with the hotel and they insisted the work would be completed by Easter and no mention of pool work! Not here for compensation on a 3k holiday just a more open and honest attitude to your once loyal guests (video on YouTube)
