Lovely hotel at a very good location. Modern, nicely decorated for Christmas. Polite staff, good choice for breakfast and dinner. Christmas dinner was something out of this world( been to many hotels, but Xmas dinner now will be hard to match). Not sure if it is always like this but we were the youngest in the hotel(43&47)during the first part of holidays and only later some other younger people joined us. The average age was 60's 😁 This hotel is not orientated to children but for us it was perfect- no screaming and shouting and our girl had fun in the pool by Herself and her cousin🤣 I wanted to book Spring Hotel Bitacora at first but now I am thinking that I made an excellent choice . That said, I might try it out next time just because of the All nclusive service Bitacora provides. It was a nice quiet stay so if you expect something like Turkey, eith music around the pool, kids disco and shows, this hotel is not for you. We were half board and 4 days we ate at the pool bar and were never disappointed. Good food and reasonable prices. We didn't book UP option because we were with the kids( it's for 18+)but if I ever come without them- I will try it out! Pros: Very good location Modern hotel Heated pools( wheelchair friendly) Good food and service Cons: No shampoo in a room! It's a first for me 🙈 The tiles in the pool (mosaic) need replacement. My daughter filled probably half of the carrier bag from the bottom saw of the pool🤣 All in all- perfect stay and believe me, I am picky. It is one of the hotels I would recommend to my friends and family

The staff is welcoming and helpful. The size of the rooms is perfect and the sea view on two sides is incredible.

So after I read the review I was a bit concerned. On arrival a lovely member of staff met us the self check in is useless to be honest, but the young gentleman who I believe is an apprentice went above and beyond to get us booked in. Our room was on the 7th floor and wow we had an amazing view front and side of the sea 775 was our room it was spotless, and I can be really picky our towels was changed daily and our bed would of been if we had asked for it to be. The only down side to this hotel is the buffet breakfast, yes there is choice but not the best quality also some foods had been there for a while and was dried up and hard this is why I have given it a 4 rating, I wouldn’t want to take my children to this hotel as I would say it’s more a adults/ older person hotel they did cater for disabled people which was excellent every pool had a disabled seat to get in and out . I chose this hotel for location and had a lovely stay bar the breakfast.

We have stayed at the Vulcano on previous occasions and was our favourite hotel to stay in Playa de las Americas , On this visit in March 2025 it all changed as soon as we checked in... On entering the hotel we we were directed to an automated checking in facility at the front of the manned reception desks, what has happened to this supposedly 4 star establishment making guests check themselves in like a Travelodge ?? A member of staff had to hover over us to complete the process so why not just go back to the usual system where he just checked you in normally?? Madness . The next problem was when we asked for the safe actuator magnet that kettle you operate the room safe , there was none available!! What the hell is the point of having across safe if it wont work ?? The guy on the desk told us to ask the following day if there were any available.. this really isn't acceptable as the resort is well known for pickpockets and the choice of leaving passports, money credit cards ,phones and tablets unguarded in your room or taking them out with you is not a good choice either way.. ( we did kick up a fuss about this, but there is nothing they could do my wife had to hang around the reception next day waiting for somebody to return a magnet) the galling thing is they charge you for use of the safe, I have travelled all over Spain and even in cheap hostal and hotels there is never a charge for a safe ! So to the room, a standard room , street view which we font mind , but right underneath our window is a homeless guy living in a bush, if I wanted views like this I would have booked a holiday in India! On inspecting the balcony and finding the great view of the homelss guy underneath our window we were more than disappointed to find a half eaten pizza in a box on the balcony ledge ( great housekeeping) , on contacting reception to complain and asked for a room swop we were told that wouldn't be possible for a few days ( which I doubted as they were no where near at capacity ) they did send a maid up to clean up the left over pizza though. The hotel offered us a room swop in few daysctime which we devlinedvin what so much troublecto pack up and move , we got the safe key after a lot of asking , the room itself was careworn, the flooring was lifting the furniture was battered and veneer peeling , black marks on the bathroom celing, also whilst there was a kettle and few packets of coffee in the room there were no mugs to actually make coffee Marvellous had to ask for those as well..these may seem trivial points but they all add up ..around then pool people had ," reserved " their sunbeds early something I thought was done anymore , but on first glance there seemed plenty of spare beds, until we got a closer look and found the ones that hadn't got a towel on were actually broken and unusable the same as the umbrellas most were broke.... The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is the position is great the breakfast was unb

This was our second visit to the hotel and overall we enjoyed our holiday. The positives - a great location and the the hotel has a great choice of breakfast, and extending it to 12 noon is a great idea and made the restaurant less crowded. Food was well cooked and varied. The hotel was clean, and the pool area is very pretty and receives daily attention by the gardener, maintenance etc to keep it looking lovely. Staff were very attentive and friendly, and despite the bar prices being a little pricey we did do a couple of the hotels shows - ABBA tribute, and Elvis tribute which were good!! The hotel is great for disabled and limited mobility guests, with adapted rooms, hoists for the swimming pool, and a dedicated mobility scooter area for charging. The negatives - the hotel rooms are in need of some TLC as other guests have said - cracked tiles, peeling paint, scratches and marks on walls and furniture.. Check in was very lengthy, only one person on Reception and it took approximately 30 minutes to get checked in. We had upgraded to a pool view and had access to the Balance Terrace which we found had no atmosphere whatsoever !! The drinks on the terrace - beer and juice were on tap (on our first visit they were individual chilled bottles) and the juice was weak and undeniable, and the beer was not good :( A lot of guests (including ourselves) who had access to the Terrace actually stayed by the main pool, even though it also lacked atmosphere. We enjoyed our hotel, but the price we paid I am sure we could have got better value. We will probably try a different hotel next time.

We decided to stay here as family had stayed previously and highly recommended this hotel. Firstly the negatives, clearly something has dramatically changed, this hotel is certainly not worthy of a 4* rating. From the moment we arrived we were ignored at check in, it took a full 30 minutes for the 3 of us to actually be seen and given our rooms. It’s all very well providing a welcome glass of fizz, however a genuine smile and warmer welcome would go a long way. I noted people in reception complaining about their rooms and asking to be moved. 20 minutes later this was me, the room I was allocated was right next to the cleaning service room. Right decision to move as the early noise every morning with cleaning trolleys in and out was very loud! The rooms are very tired looking and in need of a full refurbishment, there were screws sticking up in the broken floor keeping it in place. I had to wear flip flops the whole time in the room to avoid cutting the bottom of my feet on the screws. The ceiling panels in my room had gaps in, this is where the cockroaches often fell from, lovely. After 3 nights of creature visitors I complained and apparently my room was fumigated, still received the visits. I understand insects are to be expected, however I felt the room cleaning was not up to standard. The positives, the pool areas are nice and the gardens very well kept. We used the Balance Area and enjoyed this private section and the infinity pool. The staff at the Pool Bar were great and the food selection for lunches were tasty. We decided to do B&B only due to hearing the evening buffet had gone downhill. The breakfast selection was great with plenty of choice. I think the Volcano has lost its way and is losing focus of the regular clientele in favour for a younger crowd. The UP experience is overpriced for what it is and the hotel is clearly pushing this rather than fixing what’s happening below. Unfortunately we will not be returning, there are far nicer hotels for the same price in Tenerife.

Lovely hotel in great location. Great staff and exceptionally clean in rooms and common areas. Restaurant staff very friendly and efficient. Overall wasn’t keen on the ‘a la carte’ experience prefer a buffet with a variety of choices. Food was sometimes lukewarm. UP terrace was fantastic, great ambience good food and drink available all day.
