Villas Kalei

Found this little piece of heaven on VROB. We booked three of the four villas for a few nights.in February. Jeisha and Marcos were so thoughtful , they kept the forth one unoccupied so that we could have the whole place for ourselves. They met us at the front gate to welcome us and stayed to say goodbye when we left. From the second you pull up to the gate you will fall in love with the the property. There is nothing that they haven't thought of to make your stay enjoyable. Everything from the villas, the pool area, the kitchen area, the pathways through out the property and all the different places to sit are exceptional. We even had howler monkeys come hang out with us one day. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully sooner than later Brian and Tracie Sclisizzi

Villas Kalei provides an idyllic spot to relax and enjoy the local scenery and cuisine. It is spotlessly clean and also close to several excellent restaurants and has facilities that allow self-catering if you choose. We did a little of both. We will certainly include it on future visits to Guanacaste.

As usual Villas Kalei did not disappoint. The owners are on site and keep the suites and grounds immaculate. They are so nice and helpful with local recommendations. You are literally a 2 minute drive to the beach, half an hour to Playa Flamingo, 40 minutes to Tamarindo and an hour over to the volcanos. Truly the middle of everything and a perfect home base. Skip the fancy over priced resorts and experience the real Costa Rican Pura Vita!

It's difficult to know where to begin! Staying at Villas Kalei will go down as one of the most memorable travel experiences I've had. Having traveled around the world but mostly staying in either hotels or airbnb houses (it's been a looong time since I've stayed in a hostel!), this was such a unique and perfect spot to land with my husband and kids (9 & 5) while traveling around Costa Rica. All four of us cozied up in one of the villas which was spacious, gorgeous, incredibly high quality, impeccably clean & fresh, surrounded by lush green plants, and private from all the other villas. I wasn't sure how the shared spaces would work out, especially with us bringing kids, but it was charming and was not crowded at all even though all four villas were occupied. In fact, everyone we interacted with was so kind, equally respectful of the shared spaces, and conversational. Marcos and Jeisha will greet you to show you around and after a few more interactions with them over our stay, it's clear the whole experience is 100% a reflection of who they are - just wonderful humans. We fell in love with Playa Grande and Villas Kalei was a huge part of it.

This was our 2nd time visiting Villas Kalei. This time we brought enough friends to have the whole place to ourselves. Again, Marcos and Jeisha were the perfect hosts. They are so accommodating and put their heart and soul into running the villas and maintaining their mission of an eco-friendly hotel with minimal impact to the surrounding environment. With that being said, the accommodations are beautiful and you are treated like you're at a 5 star resort. Anyone traveling to the Playa Grande area in Costa Rica should definitely check this place out. Especially if you like waking up and having monkeys climbing in the trees above your villas. Villas Kalei was a luxurious, quiet and relaxing getaway just a short distance from the Playa Grande beach. The villas were private and very comfortable. There were multiple areas in the common space where you could find a moment to relax. The pool was beautiful too. The owners, Jeisha and Marcos, are incredible hosts who have been able to create the five-star feel of a luxury resort in a more intimate setting. Will definitely be back.
