Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort

We wanted to come to this yoga resort to unplug and recharge our batteries. Little did we know that this experience would be so fulfilling. We had high hopes for our vacation, but this resort, the activities, and its fabulous staff went above and beyond our expectations. We are refreshed and energized and looking forward to returning with other couples who can enjoy their stay with us and feel how wonderful it is to stay here as well.

The service at Bodhi Tree resort was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The front desk helped my group book excursions and get tuktuks (transport into town). The yoga shalas are all magical, and the food is delicious! Loved the spa and pool too. And the beach is just a walk away. If you want to feel truly taken care of and blissed out, Bodhi trees for you. I hope to be back soon! Special shoutout to Sebastian for all his help!

Bohdi Tree is a beautiful resort with a very warm and natural feel throughout. The paths are winding with lush greenery and a gentle waterfall marked by beautiful stone statues. The pool is lovely and calm - the juice bar delicious and busy with digital nomads and yoga retreat participants. The yoga and fitness options are plentiful and well taught. The food was delicious with many breakfast options every day to choose from. The front desk staff recommended a wonderful coffee tour that was really a special dose of CR culture and our surf lesson was a blast! My only disappointment was the actual room accommodations - we stayed in a two bedroom casita. With such attention paid to the design of the rest of the resort, it was surprising that there was literally no color in the casita - just a few orange throw pillows and a few plants/ culturally appropriate pieces of art would have made a huge difference. The bed was actually very comfortable for me but the living room couch was low quality and difficult to sit on without the cushions sliding you to the floor. And the water pressure/temperature was very inconsistent and temperamental. That might be a Costa Rica thing I’m not sure. Luckily we weren’t in the room that much!

We had the perfect stay. My daughter and I loved everything about this place. Comfortable and clean rooms/beds, wonderful staff, large pool, and finally the amazing range of classes. The yoga instructors are phenomenal! The staff were very friendly. We were about 15 min walk from the beach but the hotel offered free rides to/from.

The signature yoga retreat at Bodhi tree is one of a kind. Mela and Duncan were great hosts and provided a well rounded itinerary with a great mix of yoga classes, Pilates, and reflection. Walks on the beach in the mornings are amazing and only a 10min walk. The town of Nosara is also only a 10min walk on the beach or jungle path - cute shops, restaurants and organic grocery store await! Surf lessons were included in the retreat and was such a fun way to experience something so special to Costa Rica! Such a great experience, with amazing people, at a gorgeous calming resort.

If you are a yogi, pilates practitioner or just someone searching for a transformative health & wellness experience, put Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort in Nosara, Costa Rica on your bucket list! The resort can only be described as truly magical. The grounds, pools and facilities are breathtaking. No design detail has been spared. While practicing a more strenuous vinyasa class or a restorative Yin class in one of the exquisite shalas surrounded by lush jungle, you will want to pinch yourself from disbelief that you are practicing yoga in such a beautiful and transformative space. The staff and instructors understand and breathe hospitality to the nth degree. Everyone is incredibly friendly and responsive to any question or need. On more than one occasion, a staff member went out of their way to point out wildlife including birds, an impressive iguana and an entire family of monkeys. I was blessed to attend the most recent Bodhi Tree Signature retreat in February 2025. Melany Martinez and Duncan Bourke led the retreat and not only were incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in their yoga instruction, they are perhaps two of the most beautiful people, inside and out, that I have ever encountered! After being a yoga practitioner for 25 years, I have been taught by numerous instructors and they simply are the BEST. My husband, who did not participate in the yoga retreat, had a wonderful time joining in on the different excursions - bike ride to the beach to watch the amazing sunsets, boat tour and snorkeling in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, couples massage at the amazing spa, dinner at La Luna (a local must dine restaurant on the beach), and simply relaxing by one of the amazing pools. We felt incredibly lucky to meet the owner of Bodhi Tree, Gary. His passion for health and wellness, and providing an authentic and unique resort experience was impressive. He shared plans to build more facilities for additional sports and services. Lastly, the food was phenomenal. Fresh, organic ingredients at every meal all served buffet style. We usually never eat buffets as the quality is questionable. Not at the Bodhi Tree! Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, each meal was delicious and varying in different ethnic cuisines. Not to mention an amazing smoothie, juice and coffee bar. Every day that we spent at the Bodhi Tree topped the next. We came home relaxed, recharged and rejuvenated from our pura vida experience. We are counting the days until we can return!
