"The dining service was disastrous. The food was of extremely poor quality. Breakfast service was interrupted because they were washing the dishes. The buffet was practically empty. The machine-made orange juice was best avoided; it was just dirty water. It took an hour and a half to get dinner, which consisted of a salad (which was already on the table), a piece of chicken, and a slice of cake. The hotel facilities were clean, although there was only one elevator."

"This was our last stop on a 3 week tour and the top of my list for comfort and convenience. The owner was amazing. He helped make sure we had parking for our huge van. His front desk manager was very sweet and helpful. They were eager to make sure all our needs were met. There is a coffee/tea bar when you check in and the most delicious breakfast in the morning. The best feature at this stage of our trip was the elevator after weeks of dragging bags up stairs, it felt like a treat. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I love the modern touch lights and the clean, smooth decor. I wish I could have stayed another day. It is close to walk to the downtown and the major sites. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay again if I'm lucky enough to return to Plovdiv. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Villa Flavia, and my only regret is that it was for only one night. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well appointed, featuring a good sized bathroom and high quality bed linen. Besides coffee and tea making facilities, some complimentary drinks were also supplied. The staff were all very welcoming, and took great pride in their establishment. I highly recommend taking the tour of the ancient excavations beneath the hotel - it was professionally presented, and very insightful. Lastly, don’t miss breakfast - a good spread is offered, and everything was tasty. If you are looking for central, well priced accommodation with excellent service in Plovdiv, I highly recommend Villa Flavia."

"The hotel is lovated in a very convenient place. You are very close to the center of Plovdiv and all the places you would like to visit. The room is very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is adequate. I was offered a parking space to the hotels underground parking lot which was very helpfull."

"Pros: Super quiet location in the Old Town within easy walking distance of main sites and restaurants Modern, clean comfortable rooms with huge beds, good shower. Very efficient aircon. Attentive and helpful staff Cons: Awful coffee and poor breakfast with limited choices. Best to book without and go elsewhere. Tip: the ‘citizens club’ restaurant (turn right, 200m round the corner) is excellent - limited menu but very good traditional Bulgarian food at good prices. We tried several places and this was by far the best."

"We only had a few hours to explore the city center so we chose to stay at Bright House, which was the best decision. The location could not be better - in Kapana district with plenty of restaurants, a few minutes from the old town, mosque, pedestrian street and less than 10 minutes from the Roman Theatre. Our apartment was modern and had all the facilities we could have needed and Dimitar was helpful with each question we had."

"My first time visiting Plovdiv, when I arrived at the hotel I checked in and went up to my room, because it was late and I need to rest because I'm doing a big tournament in several cities in Bulgaria…. When I entered my room I was shocked by the horrible, degraded and very dirty situation for a 4 star hotel. In the morning I went to have breakfast and I came across a completely dirty restaurant and the state of the carpet was very disgusting, horrible.. I don't need to say much because you can see with your own eyes some of the photos I put here the facts of the reality that this hotel is in. Hotel stuck in time, decor from the last century, very dilapidated, a serious lack of daily cleaning for a 4-star hotel, I don't recommend it to anyone, worse than a 2 or 3-star hotel. In conclusion, I checked out of this hotel as quickly as possible. I never thought I'd find 4-star hotels in these horrible states."

"This is a great little hotel with the most wonderful staff. Within minutes of arrival I injured my hand in a freak accident. Ina in reception volunteered to take me to A&E at the local hospital. Once there she acted as my interpreter & paid for a Tetanus shot & Antibiotics plus dressings etc. Totally above and beyond her role and on her own time as she had finished her shift. The food in Avocado restaurant which is attached to reception is really delicious, Beef Shank, Foie Gras, Veal Tongue 🤤 The Staff were really polite and helpful and the 7 in our group were delighted we had chosen the Plaza. I will definitely be returning here."

"Brand new lovely hotel. Very clean, good toiletries. Good size rooms. Bar was welcoming and had a good selection of beers. Breakfast was good. Bring your own tea bags though. The Brewery restaurant next door was very nice. Would recommend. There’s not that much nearby so we need a taxi into town."

"Gorgeous rooms, great service. The hotel is new but done in a beautiful historic style. Room was large, and bathroom good sized. Thankful for the air-conditioning! Very good breakfast, welcome drink, and afternoon beverages and snacks. Place is spotlessly clean and the location couldn’t be better. It is in a quiet street, but walking distance to everything."
