Went yesterday for roast at 5pm. 4 of us. Food slow to come out but good. Waitress went above and beyond to provide an exceptional service. The pub always friendly, been going there years off/on. Massive beer garden. A very pleasant meal, a big shout out to Izzy, she great staff and character. Her generosity said mention Chloe the chef, who I think I know, so good on you, nice Yorkshires and crackling, we had extra. So genuine 8/10 overall. Staff always friendly. 👍

We visited the Halfway House while staying in the area on 2 occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The level of service was great, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. This was matched by the food, which again was excellent. The presentation was a feast, as the saying goes, you eat with your eyes and the view certainly doesn't disappoint. Would quite happily visit again if we're in the area, would thoroughly recommend, never judge a book by it's cover as you need to enter to sample the delights.

The landlord and landlady and staff were all amazing nothing was to much bother. Went out of there to make the stay very special. The food was outstanding along with the service,

Small and very friendly pub with rooms which we chose for it’s convenient position close to a wedding we were attending. Great breakfast and food available at other times.

We stopped off here on the off chance of a drink and snack being after 2pm. Very cosy feel to this lovely pub. Landlady was very welcoming as were the customers at the bar. Kitchen was just closing but very happy to cook our snack. 8oz Steak medium rare sandwich and fries which was delicious. My better half had fully loaded fries and totally enjoyed. This lovely pub has a bar area and a restaurant area and outside garden. We need to go back as we wish to try there pies. So nice to chat to the owners a very welcoming local pub. Keep the good work up.

Very friendly hosts and staff. Excellent food and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the community spirit that Lloyd and Kirsty promote and are succeeding with at the Halfway House. They were also very knowledgeable about the area and were able to make great suggestions re where to visit etc.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Warm, homely country pub feel with lively local feel.
Good food and drink, clean simple rooms, and good value. What more do you want really ?

We had a quick overnight stop here , so we didn’t take advantage of the pub, but it looked great . The owner was very welcoming as well as the dining staff. We really enjoyed our dinner, excellent food . We left too early in the morning to have breakfast.
