1/5 Default and gross misconduct - consider another choice!! A stay in the Hotel ‘Dolina Charlotty’ was supposed to be a gift for my mother's 55th birthday. Unfortunately, just a few hours after my arrival, I was forced to leave the facility due to the blatantly poor standard of service and the staff's lack of response to my comments. Despite having paid the £207 fee for the entire stay, I only spent four hours on the hotel grounds - the last of which was spent waiting for the manager to contact me. I received a response from reception that: ‘the manager has children, it's late and I'm sure she's busy, so I won't bother her’. I found this totally unprofessional and unacceptable in a facility of this class. Key failings included: - inadequate sanitation - cleaning staff moved around with a mop while meals were being served in the restaurant, - unavailability of announced attractions, including the inability to rent bicycles and the lack of any information about the hours of operation of the facilities, - poor technical condition of the facility and unsightly interiors, - lack of commitment on the part of the staff and total ignorance of requests to contact management. This stay was a unique opportunity that was unfortunately ruined by the extremely poor level of service and the lack of any response to concerns raised. I do not recommend this place to those expecting professionalism, reliability and comfort commensurate with the high price.

This was my next stay but the last one. I expected the inconveniences that I already knew from this hotel: terrible wifi (you have to refresh the password every now and then), no air conditioning, or minor cleaning and equipment shortcomings (this time I had a cracked light bulb cover above the mirror in the bathroom and a broken hair dryer: I didn't even report it, because there are simply things that, as a rule, don't bother me in life and staying in a hotel. Treating a customer/guest badly in an unacceptable way and cheating them is already a matter for reporting from a legal point of view. I booked a hotel for two days by phone because I had a sudden business trip. The lady from the reservations department agreed with me on the total amount for 2 days and 1 dinner on the day of arrival. I was supposed to receive this offer by email before I arrived at the hotel. I did not receive the email and I see this as my own mistake because I did not have the arrangements in writing... At check-in I immediately paid for the entire stay and dinner, asking for an invoice right away. Before leaving, when returning my room card I found out that I had to pay for 2 dinners... And so it began: unfortunately, not having an offer in the email, I could only refer to conversations over the phone and on site when checking in, and the best thing was that the hotel wanted to rip me off for a second dinner, which I did not use (heck! I was not at the hotel at all during meal times), I asked directly if I was checked off as a guest in the restaurant, that I had been there that day (restaurants have lists of guests entering the buffet room). The receptionist called the manager, who swore that it was she who presented the offer to me and that she was the one who said that the meals would be paid for separately (if that was the case, I would not have accepted, but it was a "word against word" campaign). It is funny and terrifying that since the manager remembered so well everything she had for me in the alleged offer, she still wanted to push it on me and cheat me on the payment for the second dinner. The culture, tone of speech and argumentation of the manager leave much to be desired, and threatening that I would use services for which I do not want to pay will be reported is unacceptable and forces me to report this matter further to protect other guests from this disgusting fraud. I stay in hotels on average 4-5 times a month and have never been treated so unprofessionally, accused of "theft" and made to believe what we agreed on and what offer I accepted... The level of the manager's speech is condemnable (raised tone, interrupting, snorting, rudeness).

Beautiful place, pool and spa facilities topped up the pleasant environment. Bedrooms with lake views, a beautiful breakfast in the morning, and friendly staff. I will definitely go back and explore more of Poland. The restaurant offers a great menu, and you could easily stay there for a few days without leaving the hotel. Thank you!

Let me start with the general statement - this is a family hotel. So if you are allergic to kids, this is not your destination. On the location of the resort - it's in the middle of nowhere, which actually is not bad - fresh air, no traffic, pretty quiet surrounding. I really liked the forest behind the hotel - excellent for a nice long walk with a dog. Out room was small. I would expect bigger room in a resort type hotel allowing for comfortable stay for a week or so. Double bad wa also rather narrow. On the bright side - although the hotel is not new, everything in the room was working properly (haven't checked AC though). We have chosen HB option - food was OK in terms of selection and the quality. My partner was very happy with the various SPA treatments, so this is a plus. We haven't been neither to the PUB nor the swimming pool, so no opinion on these two. The hotel staff was very nice, and helpful. Overall impression - average place, I would say - 20-30% overpriced, bearing in mind quality of accommodation and food served in the restaurant.

Good points: 1) Scenic location with tranquility 2) Nice indoor pool area 3) Great activities and soft play areas for children 4) nice “rock bar” downstairs 5) plenty of free parking Negative points: 1) No air con in rooms made sleeping uncomfortable and the room generally quite stuffy to be in. 2) breakfast very basic and repetitive 3) outside the hotel the paths around the resort are poorly maintained and uneven. 4) overall the hotel now looks very worn and in need of an extensive refurbishment. 5) cost is expensive at £130 per night and isn’t worth that price compared to what can be offered elsewhere. 6) wifi automatically kicks you off after every 20 minutes and requires you to constantly keep manually logging back on. This makes it impossible to do any business work from the hotel.

There is a bowling alley in the building. If the manager is throwing a little party (and some pins), you hear the rumble all night. Rooms are smelly. Doublebeds are 140cm wide and solid as a rock, so you better be small and tough. Windows are untight. All signs are in polish - no translations. The most lightbulbs in the "spa area" are broken. The staff is very polite but speaks barely english. You cant pay in euro. Food was good. Overall a nice family guesthouse but no hotel. No international standard. Of course no refunds.
