Hotel Tourist Residency and Homeland Forest Villa

We book three nights at this place. The property has a great potential with a very nice garden and lake view from one side. The business is managed by unexperienced, non organized, not transparent young fellows. The rate in Dicember is roughly €30/night (expensive for Pokhara) but for the quality of the stay is not worth more than €5. The rooms are literally falling apart. We found a room not professionally cleaned (dust on the corners and forniture), no one sockets was working properly. We had to push it hard and plug our charger with an angle to make it work. The bathroom was a DISASTER. Toilet flush was not working, there was no hot water, the shower faucet was unscrewed and leaking, falling continously on the floor. Same thing with the towel rack/holder. Broken and impossible to use. The bathroom was very humid and the floor stayed 24h wet. Also, you could hear the water running noisely into the shower drain all night long. We asked to change our room already the first evening. They allowed to move to another one the following morning. The other room had pretty much the same issues: cold water, bathroom floor 24h wet, shower leaking, wather running noisely all day long into the shower drain, Toilet flushing tank cover broken in two pieces, no one single power socket working properly. I forgot to mention the blancket. The blanket is not thick enough for the night temperatures in Pokhara and is drammatically short! I was sleeping with my feet out of it due to the small size of it. On the morning of Day 2 we gave the management a small bag of dirty clothes to wash. We waited until the end of our reservation patiently despite the unconfortable and messy stay. On the morning of check out we went to pay for our stay (cash...they seem not to like credit card payment) and to retire our laundry. The laudry was still wet and totally wrinckled (not hironing whatsoever). I took it anyway to finally leave the place. Surprise: my hoodie was missing. I paid npr 13.000 + npr 500 for the laudry. The laundry was 1,5kg hands washed and sun "dried". I lately found out that the cost of a hand washed and sun dried loundry per kg in Pokhara is ndr 100. Do the math. The lady ensure me that she would have send my hoodie to my following hotel once ready. We sent several messages in the following two days to get updates. They have never replayed. Finally three days after we left the lady sent us a message telling us that someone from the hotel gave our hoodie to other guests already gone. She asked how could they compensate the loss. I wrote I would have pass by the place the following morning to get the value of the hoodie in npr. She lately wrote me she would have charge the workers of the place for their mistake. Something a management should never tell or do. The value of the hoodie was roughly $75 and these people aren't probably make that money in two-three weeks. They did not even come out with other compensatory solutions. Nothing. I ended up giving up on my h

I only planned to stay here for a few nights, but ended up staying five nights. It's conveniently located only a 10 min walk from lakeside, nestled in the hills above the streets away from the noise and pollution. After staying in many hotels in lakeside area, it was so nice to wake up to the relaxing sounds of birds, insects and wildlife, rather than the sounds of traffic, dogs barking, people shouting ect. There's even some trails behind the hotel if you want to explore some of the local flora and fauna. I stayed in the deluxe room, which was very cosy, with good amenities, good air con and hot water 24/7. The mattress was superb and combined with the relaxing quiet nature of the surroundings, it meant I had a good night's sleep every night and i never needed to use earplugs to help me sleep, unlike most other hotels ive stayed in around lakeside. The owner and the staff were super friendly and helpful and we're always happy to help, offering me some good local travel advice and always making sure I was happy and taken care of. The garden and restaurant areas are a nice place to chill in the evening and grab some food and a cold beer and unwind from a busy day. Overall it was a pleasure to spend time here and i always looked forward to coming back to this place after a busy day to relax and get a good nights sleep. If you want the convenience of being located on lakeside, but don't want all the commotion and noise that goes with it, then I can definitely recommend this place.

Fabulous all around! Beautiful property with friendly & accommodating staff. The owner, Bimal, made us feel like family, so warm & friendly. Just a couple blocks from the hustle & bustle of the main road but so serene with beautiful views. Our room was fabulous with private patio, views, privacy. The dining onsite had a nice menu (yummy food!) and the ambiance was wonderful. Super convenient locations with easy walk (other than the steep hill & stairs at the property, so if you can’t handle walking a block up/downhill) to all the shops, restaurants, and the Lake. So happy we stayed here. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

What a warm reception upon arrival! The owner, Bimal, was very welcoming and gracious, and so proud to tour us thru his property (as he should be, it’s beautiful!). We received a cup of tea upon arrival, toured the grounds, and were given suggestions on where to wander to find fun restaurants for dinner. We also received a nice greeting from Bimal when we booked the room, and even his WhatsApp message was friendly and warm. We love it here!!

The perfect place to come back to after finishing the Manaslu Circuit. The gardens were lovely with a great view of the city and hills. Bimal (the owner) messaged me prior to arrival and his staff were extremely attentive throughout my stay. Would highly recommend.

So impressed with the hotel name Tourist Residency , its name tells everything. The best hotel in POKHARA. I have stayed for a day and extended 4 more days. Stepping up along the beautiful stairs, i was immediately struck by the beautiful and friendly reception area, with fruits trees and flowers. Trust me, really beautiful and unique. Light, airy and very spacious...very welcoming atmosphere. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. They always greeting and smiling to us. The breakfasts were amazing. The location of the hotel is great. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials and fantastic view. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to the tourists who want to go to Pokhara. Will be back to this place soon..!!!
