Grafton Lodge is the kind of place that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. Tucked into the trees and just a 10-minute walk from Lake Lure, it’s perfectly located for exploring, but quiet enough to truly unwind. Kim and Richard are the heart of it all, warm and welcoming and full of local stories. If you stay, do yourself a favor and add on breakfast. Rich makes it himself, using local ingredients, and serves it up with a side of great conversation. It’s the kind of stay that stays with you.

Not a whole lot of rooms at the B&B, but so what. Our room was quite comfortable and nice for the 2 nights we stayed. Cannot say enough about the husband and wife who run it. Extremely helpful in moving in; be certain to also pay for breakfast. Well worth it AND the cook really does a caring job in his preparation.

We took a weekend trip here for some quiet time. We couldn’t have ended up at a more perfect place. Kim & Rich are wonderful host who take very good care of the people and the property. Free coffee, cookies, and snacks. Farm fresh breakfast for an extra cost. Our room was cozy and comfortable. We also had a private balcony. Felt safe enough to leave the door open for fresh air. The shower was HOT which is always a plus. You can easily walk to Lake Lure from the B&B, Chimney rock is a short drive and close to Hendersonville & Asheville if you want to explore more. We can’t wait to come back when during lake season! See y'all soon! With love, L&A

Rich prepared the most wonderful breakfast and was very considerate about what you did not like and anything you could not eat. We enjoyed meeting the hosts and the other guests and getting to know all of them. Close to the places we wanted to go.

Well maintained property with helpful owners and quite a few amenities. However, can’t recommend Room 3 in the winter. It is heated by an electric fireplace, essentially a space heater, that has to be turned on and off at the unit. There is no thermostat. It got too hot, I had to get up and go shut it off. It got cold, same thing. We recently bought an electric fireplace insert like this, but with remote and auto shutoff when it reaches the desired temperature. I really recommend that upgrade! The other issue for me was a soft mattress. Other guests haven’t complained but it wasn’t comfortable for me.

This place is top-notch. The room was very inviting with a comfortable bed and cozy linens. Plenty of space to spread out. The owners were very responsive & informative. Then to top it off the breakfast was amazing! The price was very fair. We will definitely return

This was our first time staying at a B&B type of vacation rental. We have stayed in resorts, Vrbo rentals and hotels previously. We were here for a family wedding which turned out to be on the other side of the mountain. After driving the switchbacks up and down the mountain It was like "coming home" to get back to our private self-contained room. We were also able to walk to the beach and restaurants at Lake Lure, or just a short drive to Chimney Rock area. Coffee and Cookies were available all day in the cute kitchen area. We even had a little private sitting area outside of our room. The rooms are all individual and have a private key entrance. There are multiple areas available for socializing if you like. Rich is a trained chef and the Breakfasts were yummy. Kim was very welcoming and friendly and provided much information about the area and things to do. We could not have asked for a better experience and are so happy that we chose Grafton Lodge for our stay in the beautiful Lake Lure area.

We stay in the area quite often and have driven by the Grafton Lodge many times. We needed a place to stay during a recent one-day visit to Lake Lure and decided to give the Grafton Lodge a try. We were very pleased. Easy checkin/out. Very clean room with comfortable beds. It is conveniently located. The breakfast was outstanding. We had a nice conversation with the owners and a visit back is most definitely in our plans. Don't pass them by.
