Excellent and no words can hide the beauty of the hotel transformation from Old hospital. Good location for easy commute and connecting all travels. We recommend this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel on the boardwalk and used to be a convent. The sauna, indoor pool, and outdoor pool are wonderful, the outdoor pool especially. (The indoor pool is difficult for lap swimming.) Front desk is super helpful. One concern I had is that my beautiful room had wall to wall rugs, and the AC unit I could not turn on which was fine temperature wise though left a moisture in the air. The bathroom did not have a fan. As such, in this often foggy climate, I found myself wondering if there was black mold — as there was a tiny bit on the shower ceiling and floor. Personally I enjoyed sleeping al fresco with windows open overlooking the pool.

Excellent Hotel - wonderful big rooms , good restaurant , wonderful service & best massages at the Spa ( ask for Ruth !) and great pools. In the center of Ponta Delgado the perfect location for your stay at San Miguel. All new renovated and elegant

We stayed at the hotel on the first floor room 103. At first we were worried that it was above reception so might be noisey but it was very quiet (although we do listen to a rain app) and we got very good sleep. The room was spacious and airy, the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The reason for a 4 star is because the food is not good - basing this on the breakfast and dinner buffet. One evening we sat for dinner but it felt like a school canteen. It was very noisey, no music, the chairs and furniture were not very nice and would make loud noises on the floor so we had to leave before ordering. But this was fine for us as there are lots of places in town to eat and drink. Would stay again, and just eat elsewhere as we had done.

Vila Gale Collection S. Miguel is a beautiful historic hotel in Ponta Delgada. From the moment you walk thru the front doors you are wowed with the grand staircase and then a over the top welcome greeting by the front desk person who made sure every question we had got answered. The room was spacious and walked out to the grand balcony. Really nothing but positive vibes while staying here. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh omelets and a great selection of items.

Lovely friend staff but very disappointed meal , wine from list not available, soup cold , main course inedible - had to send back- slow cooked beef too tough to even cut. Did offer another meal but we declined. Other meal in party. Only mediocre

The hotel should be on your must stay list. The location can’t be beat. A very short walk to the town centre for shops and restaurants. Our room was huge and very well appointed. The amenities were upscale and smelled fantastic. Plenty of room for closet space and storage. A bar fridge came in handy too. The staff are wonderful especially the man who worked the restaurant in the evenings. Well done.

Well located hotel. Excellent rehabilitation of the old building. Very friendly reception team. Relatively small room. Closet with ants. Weak breakfast. Yeast cake not fresh. Nespresso capsules for decaf only. A lot of people for little space.
