Each guestroom has design inspired by a 1920s writer's office including a vintage-styled journalist desk, playful newsroom references throughout and floor to ceiling marble bathrooms. An iconic front-desk "letterpress art wall" welcomes guests to its front desk and to its Inkwell lobby bar featuring hand crafted cocktails. The hotel also has an Art Gallery featuring local artists works, open to the public, which also includes a two story signature installation piece of vintage typewriters called the SWARM, to depict the chaos of a newsroom.

The Press Hotel is a very nice hotel; clean, modern, upscale. But I found the valuer for the money was lacking. The food in their restaurant, Union, was above average but the prices were too high for what you got. Breakfast for two (one order of oatmeal and one order of a smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese) came to $44, and with a 20% tip thrown in the meal cost $53. For breakfast! My dinner the night before was similar; very tasty food, but not worth the $125 price for two people. If you don't mind spending lots of $$, it's a great hotel with excellent service and nice rooms.

A well conceived and thoughtfully decorated hotel paying tribute to the history of the building it calls home: friendly and welcoming staff, nicely appointed rooms with an attention to quality, and a good location in downtown Portland. It would be nice if some sort of coffee and tea service was provided in the room, or at least a hot water kettle; also that the breakfast doesn’t start until 7:30 makes for less flexibility in the morning—though my meal was quite tasty and with expeditious service. I would happily stay here again.

Quite simply one of the loveliest, friendliest hotels I've stayed in for a while - helped by being in the most beautiful of cities. Friendly staff, great decor, spaces to read and work and good food. Room was lovely and spacious.

Never got into room
We arrived at 4:45 they told us they had maintence problem just our room and they moved us to another hotel after we valet our car.
This was a very bad experience and we didnt get our marriot awards.

The Hotel itself was beautiful and very well decorated. The rooms were extremely clean and had all amenities needed. My only complaint was that we could hear music most of the night. Not sure if it was from the street or another room. 4/5 because of this.
