The plot, the garden, the location are world-class and just amazing. You can understand why this place was once known as one of the best hotels at Costa Smeralda. Unfortunately the hotel is totally run-down and poorly managed. From the very beginning of arrival until you leave, one can barely believe the condition of the hotel and the what you experience as a guest. We had a front row room with sea view. The room had a musty smell, dirty windows, dirty lampshades, it was sloppily painted with color blots at tiles and furniture. We could not close the window in our bathroom. The hotel is far away from a minimum standard of a luxury hotel. The food at the bar and at breakfast are a shame for Italy (we never had dinner at the restaurant). The hotel hosts couples without children as well as families with children, which causes problems in terms of noise pollution. It would be easy to offer separate sections at the beach and at the restaurant so both groups can enjoy their stay, but instead you hear „ It’s Italy, what can you do“ when you mention, that babies and small children screaming around constantly at the BAR at 19:00 is a little bit irritating, while trying to enjoy a sun-downer cocktail. The bar is more of a kids club before dinner, than a place where you can enjoy a drink. So we decided to never go to the bar again and always leave the hotel for lunch, drinks and dinner. Given that the food was poor, it was no big loss. In general there are so many details, which are embarrassing, a shame and ridiculous: - the hotel pool: fantastic size but it is lined with a horrendously blue resin, which crumbles at the edges of the pool wall - just a ridiculous eye sore - everywhere you find areas, which are used as storage spaces for garbage - the staff is generally unmotivated and does not have any kind of refined attitude (with some few exceptions - e.g. chef de bar was a perfect example for flawless, refined classic attitude of Italian Grand Hotel) I love Sardinia, I love the exceptional beauty of the nature and the sea, I love the kindness of Sardinian people. They have this special genuine friendlyness, which is heart warming. I also understand, that Sardinia is a little bit more expensive than other parts of Italy. The season is short and you have to bring everything to the island. I am totally aware of it and I believe that exceptional service and luxury shall have a high price tag. But this hotel is just a bad joke. I hope that after the renovation they will also change the management, because luxury is not a matter of refurbished rooms but a mindset, which is created by the people who run and own a hotel.

We just finished a 10 days stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything about the experience in flawless. They key highlight is the staff, everywhere from the restaurant to the bar, beach, porters, housekeeping and managers. They made us feel at home with their kind and hospitable attitude. The property itself is very unique with less than 60 rooms on a bay of at least 20 acres. Beautiful gardens, incredible scenery and amazing emerald waters

Not impressed with the service at this hotel. No recognition for lifetime Titanium. They put us in the back of the hotel and wouldn’t help us put any suite night awards in. The beach is empty but when we came out to get a chair they said we could not have any of the chairs in the front because guests already chose those chairs for their entire stay even if the guest decides to not come out to the beach that day. We are also a guest. It should be available to any guest at the hotel. That’s the equivalent of going to a cheap resort and having people put their towels out on every chair. Skip this property and go somewhere else.

If you love Italian food (and I do!), this is the place for you. The hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly and helpful and the scenery/beach is beautiful. But none of that is the reason to stay here. The reason to stay here is THE FOOD! For lunch and dinner, they will make you anything you want and it is amazing (Note: you need to be on the full board plan to enjoy the true Disney World nature of the restaurant). We have now been here twice and everything we have eaten has been fantastic. You sit down, and they start by asking you what pizza you want. As they are making the dough from scratch, you can pick from seafood, to spicy sausage, to margarita, ham, mushroom and any combination of them. It is all so fresh and good. Then the pasta. Maybe a truffle pasta, amatriciana, carbonara, bolognese, primavera (I’m not ashamed to admit we had all of these in just 3 days). They make it all, and they are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Things got so silly, that we started testing their ability to make… a lasagna, for example I figured for sure that would throw them. Nope, just give them 25 minutes and it was delicious. Lobster pasta, no problem. Ravioli, of course! After that, you have a full choice of entrees, filet mignon, entrecôte, veal chops, lamb chops, sea bass, sea bream, snapper, shrimp, prawns, chicken, lobster. Anything and everything you can imagine. And, it’s all served in a beautiful outdoor poolside setting. Then to top it off… how about a chocolate soufflé. Just wow. This was our second visit. The first time we went, we had been warned not to stay for more than a few days because you just can’t eat like this every day for too long. Well, we did, and then came back for more. Do anything you can to get here at least once in your life. You won’t regret it (although your waistline might).

Hotel Patrizza is absolutely outstanding! The service was nothing short of extraordinary as was the food. We frankly couldn’t have asked for more. This hotel and it’s staff ( particularly Peppino and Giuseppe ) go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have truly mastered providing that “ lovin feeling” that most other hotels can only hope to provide.

I had initially booked at Baglioni in costa smeralda but was advised to change to one of the luxury collection hotels. I have been disappointed and uncomfortable since check in. My husband and I frequent luxury hotels and Hotel Pitrizza has not been delivering. Upon pulling up in a rental car, we immediately felt like we were pulling up to a 3 star motor lodge you’d find in the US. There was no one in the front. We got out of the car and the entered a small hut where we found someone to check us in. Upon arriving to the room, we found at least 3 mosquitos and 3 spiders in the room. As someone who is very sensitive to mosquitos, this was my nightmare. The room itself is old (which I don’t find charming, though some may) and smells old. The bed and sheets are comfortable but the rest of the room reminds me of a 3 star hotel at 5 star pricing. The rooms badly need an update although from what I can tell, the luxury collection hotels seem to monopolize the area, so maybe that’s why it hasn’t been changed. Admittedly, I am very picky about hotels and comfort. I always stay at a four seasons when they’re present but at this price point, I’d at least expect a room with less bugs or more updated finishes. As for the staff, the breakfast staff is excellent and very friendly. We spent a day at the beach and upon walking down to the beach, there were at least 16 empty chairs by the water with just towels folded up on them and ready to be laid out. One of the poolside staff came over asking us if we wanted chairs and then proceeded to tell me all those chairs on the left side of the beach were reserved for peoples entire stay so offered me two chairs with no view but of a plant and some granite rocks. I sat for the entire day and no one ever came to occupy those chairs. What hotel allows guests to reserve random beach chairs for their entire stay? And if that’s a thing, why weren’t we ever offered an opportunity to do so? While laying at the beach, we also saw people coming by trying to sell us fake watches and purses. Not something I’d expect at a 5 star property with private beach. We won’t return to this property as out of a nearly 3 week vacation, I was the least comfortable here and would’ve departed early if there was a flight to my next destination earlier. The only issue is, having really spent time looking for the nicest hotels here, I’m not sure there is another property that would truly be luxurious which is crazy considering the clientele that frequent this area.

This is a Marriott all inclusive resort so be sure to collect your points. A car will be needed as there are nothing within walking distance. You leave your car at the reception, they'll park it for you and will bring it out when you need to go out. On the positive note, the ground, the beach, the pool, the bar/the restaurant and the fitness area are well kept and great to enjoy. We paid extra for the breakfast which has a great variety of food & provided made to order eggs & coffee. The price was worth it. My room was 322 which was roomy, has a private outdoor patio with seating, very comfortable bed with great sheets, great bath towels & provided with Acqua Di Parma products & daily refresh of bottled water. There was another level of rooms upstairs but did not hear any footsteps which was a blessing to get a quiet sleep. The room interior can use a refresh and there can be mosquitos if you leave the patio door open. Not complaints but some things to be aware of - I'm assuming the property contracts out with an outside vendor for water sports - the pricing was exorbitant for equipment rental & lessons. Same goes for any bar drinks or water you order at the beach - very pricey. If you arrange a tour through the hotel & if the pick up is at one of their harbors, they charge the tour operator which will boost up the price charged to you. Tldr - some improvements can be made with the sauna & the concierge staff though. Seems the sauna is operated by an independent party but it's included as part of the hotel's amenity for the guests. There was no indication that a reservation is needed which is understandable with COVID. When I got to the facility, it was all booked and the proprietor was grumpy. I was told all slots were booked for my length of stay. Had the reservation requirement was communicated in advance, I would definitely have made it. I went to the concierge desk to give my feedback & the guy tried to brush it off. He actually told me "if that's what she told me, that's what it is" ... only after I pointed out that this was a guest amenity & there was no communication on need for reservation, he got on the phone & discovered there were some open spots the next day. I was able to use it for an hour the next day but felt the facility was woefully tiny to accommodate the potential number of guests for the entire resort. The dry sauna may fit about 4 people & the steam sauna was out of service. The sitting area had two loungers & there were three shower stalls. I felt the resort skimped on this part of the amenities. Someone at the concierge desk also screwed up on a restaurant reservation date. Luckily, the restaurant was able to accommodate us.

The reason that rooms at Hotel Pitrizza are expensive is because of the high staff to guest ratio. You will find someone ready to carry your plate from the buffet, pour your bottled water, and relocate your lounge chair on the beach to keep you in the shade. Here's your chance to live like a Royal. The hotel is located on a beautifully landscaped point overlooking the Emerald Coast of Sardinia. We enjoyed the "Fred Flintstone" architecture of the buildings where everything is constructed from local rocks and the flat roofs are covered with native plants. The grounds are filled with olive trees, flowering plants, and impeccably maintained walkways,. We absolutely enjoyed our "superior guest room with partial ocean view" that had its own private covered patio with a view of a small inlet. The room was spacious, comfortable, and decorated in Mediterranean pastels and blues. The breakfast is bountiful including cold meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, and hot dishes. You can also get eggs cooked to order and served under a silver dome to your table. The yellowjackets in September were aggressive and persistent. So ask for a smoking pot of coffee grounds to reduce their numbers. Lunch is expensive and memorable for $110 per person excluding drinks. There is a chef with a seafood counter and a meat locker who can cook you essentially anything you wish. This is in addition to the overwhelming buffet and a separate chef manning the wood fired pizza oven. The bar is beautiful and expensive at night. A bottle of local wine starts at $80 and prices go into the stratosphere. Cocktails are $30 each. Live music starts at 8pm every night. This hotel is an indulgence. But give a try if you can afford it,

The best stay we had ever! Compared to any place in the world! Lush green surround, only 50 rooms on a HUGE property, the best room we ever had, the best beach, the best food and definitely the very best staff. We are very lucky to enjoy the experience of Hotel Pitrizza this summer. I strongly recommend the hotel and looking forward to be back soon. The staff is great, from housekeeping, to restaurant and buggy service. Always greeting with a smile. I want to thank Peppino and his team at the restaurant. The service the best sea bass grilled ever. I want to also thank the hotel management for taking great care of us. Alex for driving us up and down with his buggy, my daughter is still asking about him until now. It’s an iconic hotel with an excellent beach, great rooms and superb service
