Bodalla Dairy Shed Guest Rooms

We have stayed here before around 6 years ago, The rooms are plain with chunky furniture, I don't think the bathroom floor was cleaned as there was black hair on it and its not mine. The heater was in a weird place situated next to the bed on the wall and the controls were against the wall so you couldn't get to them, The dust and fluff behind it was gross. The lighting in the room was poor.

We arrived at Bodalla dairy hotel after a very long drive to be informed (after standing around for ages waiting for them to find our booking) that they had overbooked and that there was no room for us! It was extremely unprofessional and upsetting. The entire south coast was fully booked out. It was a complete disaster! There was no sympathy or compassion from the hotel staff. The manager told us that the same thing had happened the day before as well! I would urge you to stay else where in case the same thing happens to you :(

We stopped in for the ice cream in a cute, clean dairy store. Nice selection, including honey ice cream, licorice ice cream and a beautiful rainbow for our enchanted little girl. Restrooms were clean and service was friendly. Nice stop.

We didn't stay in the accommodation and came for the cheese tasting. We went on a Saturday and it was busy as all get out. There could probably do with some better signage for where to wait etc. because a few people in the know had worked out to jump the queue you should just go down to the cheese tasting area. Orders can be taken for food, icecreams or beverages etc at any of the registers and so now I also just go straight to the cheese area. If you order food they give you one of these light up table number buzzer things which works well. The toasted ham and cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious and especially chock full of yummy melted cheese of course. I tried the yogurt and OH MY GOODNESS, it was absolutely divine. The berry and the passionfruit were winners for me. The yogurt was thick and the consistency of cream cheese so if you like thick yogurt this is the one for you. The products are not cheap, but they are excellent quality and hand-made.

We didn’t stay we stopped to view the cheese and other products. We bought smoked gumleaf cheese and the taste is amazing, You can taste test the cheese and they sell ice cream and milk shakes. Chooks and poddy calves are there as well. You can view through windows watch them make their products.
