When I entered the room, there were a lot of flies and mosquitoes, so I immediately asked for spray, but it didn't come even after an hour. I finally called three times and they finally brought it. There were no amenities such as toothbrushes or razors, so you had to bring those yourself. There was no tissue or toilet paper provided.

Old facility, bedding not changed, ugly hotel surroundings. High price, rooms with an ocean view ok. Not worth the price

Considering the cost of the accommodation, the food was better than I expected. The location is adjacent to the public beach, but it's a shame that it's not on the hotel grounds. There is no particular hospitality, but I guess that's to be expected since this is not Asia or Europe.

The check-in was lengthy, uninvolved and not very informative. We waited for almost 30 minutes. We arrived on Christmas Eve, and after 10 p.m. there was no way to get anything to eat. The recommendation that there was a restaurant across the street to eat something was wrong. The whole hotel exudes a dreary and cold atmosphere. The location on the bay is good, nice view from the room. Cleanliness was OK. The orange jam from the buffet smelled like vomit.

Richard, living in Berlin, Germany, 64 years old. I do not recommend this aging hotel. It is no more than a three star or even less hotel. The hotel website and other internet sites have photos of this hotel and the grounds which are a number of years old and no longer actual. The hotel and grounds require a lot of maintenance. BEWARE! I was with my wife from June 26th thru July 13th (17 days) in the superior room 431 oceanview with breakfast and evening dinner included. The room had one armchair with a footstoll, a mini refrigerator, and a safe. Only a small three drawer chest for clothes in the closet. On the balcony was a small wooden table with two wooden chairs. The view from the balcony was really nice. No real sunset. The sun goes down hidden. The saltwater swimming pool was open for daily visitors each day with different colored armbands. Most of the daily visitors were locals with children and music boxes on the pool. LOUD! There were understandably very few tourist guests. There was( only between three and six umbrellas for everyone available. The pool patio is in the need of desperate repair. The breakfast buffet in the hotel Restaurant Prainha was good. Somedays not everything was available. Many locals and often LOUD! The hotel did not provide a dinner buffet in the hotel Restaurant Prainha. Hotel guests with the dinner included were given in the hotel Pamorama Bar a menu to select one from the three main dishes, a soup or salad, and a dessert. The meal was almost always good except a couple of times it was not so good. Other guests could order a la carte. The hotel had many evenings private events at the hotel Snack/Pool Bar. The location is good: walking distance 2 minutes to Prainha Beach, 8 minutes to Quebra Canela Beach, 10 minutes to a bank or car rental, 15 minutes to a beverage and food store, and 30 minutes to the "Plateau". The service and friendliness were at times good and at other times not so good.

No bottled water in the room. Even upon arrival. Running water disconnected on and off for almost 2 days with no explanation. No hot water for the duration of my entire 4 days stay. Breakfast is average. Hotel food and beverage expensive. Cost half to eat or drink in the beach restaurant in front of the hotel.

I had to leave the hotel early as I just could not sleep. There is loud music all night from a club nearby, the beds are extremely hard and old mattresses and as soon as you turn off the smelly ac it gets hotter than outside again instantly. After trying another room all problems persisted. When I checked out three days early on a cancelable ******* booking reception told me they will refund the unused nights via ******* but I would have to pay a late checkout fee of EUR 50 as I used the room longer than usual checkout time. But neither did they refund the unused nights (******* told me the manager refuses to refund) nor did they refund the ripped off late checkout fee, they just ignore me. Extremely bad service unfortunately

The decision to choose a city hotel in Praia was difficult: On one hand, you want to stay in the center, but on the other hand, you also desire tranquility. At the Oasis Praiamar, you get both. It's just a few steps away from many excellent restaurants on the two city beaches, and the complex is designed in such a way that you can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. The rooms are very nice, and you can always find a free lounger in the shade or in the sun by the pool. I also found the pool service exceptional—very guest-oriented with a wide selection of dishes. Haven't had such a service at many other hotels. We would like to particularly emphasize the super-friendly and exceptional service at the reception, especially by Joao and Nouma, who impressed us every day with her proficiency in German. I wish my Portuguese was even half as good. We will definitely return; the overall concept convinced us. And yes, dining with the unbelievably beautiful sunset is an absolute highlight

After passing through an impressive foyer the rest of this hotel has the ambiance of a prison with austere concrete, minimal landscaping, surly staff (especially in reception) plus security guards much in evidence. It is really a business hotel with minimal facilities for leisure travellers. A miserly 50ml bottle of water supplied on Day 1. Then had to buy water at the bar as no shops in the area. Much needed as tap water not potable and it reached 30 deg on some days in January (the coolest month). The other Cape Verde hotel I stayed (on Sal) provided 1.5ml on day 1. I had a superior sea view room so did have a large balcony. The other rooms had very little outside space. Not a problem if you are on business but not if staying for a few days as a tourist. The swimming pool is surrounded by crumbling concrete and loose slabs. There is no information supplied anywhere about any aspect of the hotel such as times of meals or facilities (except the cost of times in the minibar). The three restaurants each function at different times for the different meals. The breakfast was good quality and varied. ‘Normal black tea bags’ were stored behind the counter and only issued on request. Politely requesting lemon for my tea was met with a shrug except on day 5. Noisy parties were held in this room for birthdays etc in the evening. Bedrooms in great need of refurbishment with tiles almost coming off the wall of the shower area. My shower which had a mechanical problem reported on day 1 was never fixed, and the water always luke warm in all rooms. One day the hotel’s old infrastructure failed so no water at all for a while. Located on the far outskirts of Praia with very little to see or do in the area as it is mainly housing on busy roads.

Hotel in decay. Worn bathroom, filthy seats. Friendly but unpersonal staff, ok breakfast with cheap ingredients only. Dinner was better then expected. Fitness was closed down, pool area with broken tiles all around and disgusting toilets. Needs a makeover and more dedicated staff

Nice hotel. Well located. Very friendly staff and good food. Great choice for breakfast. Good WiFi. A seawater filled pool which is lovely Only drawback is the area around the pool. Flagstones which are crumbling and need replacing badly.

Nice hotel; very friendly and hospitable staff. Breakfast was great, fresh and authentic Cabo Verdian dishes and also European style food. The swimmingpool is filled with seawater, nice to swim in and environmental friendly.

Amazing place to spend your time, if you decided to visit Cabo Verde, here you can taste the local food as catchupa and traditional pastries, as well as catch some local drinks in a bar, like caipirinha with grogue. Amazing space to relax and catch some sun next to a big and clean swimming pool. If you like to go to the beach, right opposite of the hotel is a very beautiful beach. Personal of the hotel is very welcoming and always happy to help. Recommend this place!
